Disentis

Disentis is located in the Surselva Valley in the canton of Graubünden, at the confluence of the Medelser Rhine and the Vorderrhein. This idyllic village lies at an altitude of 1,130 metres, far away from the hustle and bustle, and is considered the modern-day centre of the Romansh language. The ski area, which reaches an altitude of almost 3,000 metres, is considered an insider tip for freeriders and snowboarders. 60 kilometres of extensive slopes and countless unprepared slopes near the lifts guarantee plenty of variety.

The "Andermatt – Sedrun – Disentis" lift pass also gives you access to the largest contiguous ski area in Switzerland with 167 kilometres of slopes.

A cultural highlight is a visit to the St. Martin monastery, the oldest Benedictine abbey in Switzerland, which is visible from afar. A visit to the oldest wool carding mill (sheep wool processing) in Switzerland is also worthwhile. Here in the Grisons Oberland, there are many culinary specialities such as Capuns alla tatta, Bizochels or Maluns, which you should definitely try!

Vorderrhein

The Surselva Valley, as this landscape of the upper Vorderrhein is named in Rhaeto-Romanic, is located between the source of the river Rhine at the Thomasee and the Flimser Forest. It comprises various valleys, e.g. the Valsertal and Lumnezia. Approx. 1,800 hours of sun per annum and very good snow conditions are the best qualifications for a fantastic skiing holiday. This region is especially popular with free riders. The signed ski routes aside the prepared pistes are ideal for experts. But also beginners and families can run wild here, as the prepared pistes mainly consist of easy and intermediate runs.
