Ski area Disentis

The Disentis ski area, which lies at an altitude of 1,227 to 2,833 metres, is a real insider tip for freeriders and snowboarders. Piste of varying difficulty totalling 60 km in length and 12 lift systems provide plenty of variety. The route below the Gendusas - Lai Alv chair lift, for example, is real expert terrain.

Not far from the lifts are countless unprepared slopes, where you can still find untouched deep snow sections. The varied terrain between the humps, rocks and summits is like a huge snowboarding playground.

With the Andermatt - Sedrun - Disentis lift pass, winter sports enthusiasts can look forward to varied descents and breathtaking views. The merger of the Andermatt/Oberalp/Sedrun, Disentis and Gemsstock - Andermatt ski areas boasts a total of 167 kilometres of piste. This makes the Andermatt - Sedrun - Disentis network the largest ski area in Central Switzerland.

A total of 32 modern lifts are available to take skiers and snowboarders quickly and comfortably to the starting points of the descent. Beginners and families with children get their money's worth on the numerous kilometres of blue pistes, which are mainly found in the Disentis and Andermatt/Oberalp/Sedrun ski areas. Advanced skiers have the opportunity to put their skills to the test on the many red and black marked pistes. There are also ski routes with a total length of around 8 kilometres to discover in the Gemsstock-Andermatt ski area. These ski routes are not groomed, but are secured against avalanches and are open to freeriders.

The ski areas are located at altitudes between 1,227 metres and 2,961 metres, with the highest point at Gemsstock. Challenging pistes and the region's most popular off-piste routes start from here. Beginners among freeriders can take courses at the Avalanche Training Centre on all aspects of freeriding.

Après ski Disentis

Monastery location or not - Disentis still has a varied après ski programme in store for you. In the Bar Nevada on Gendusas, you can experience après ski in a completely different way. Warming drinks such as 'firewater' and 'Indian tea' are served in the cosy atmosphere. A great alternative is the Lai Alv mountain restaurant, where you can tuck into huge slices of pizza with a magnificent panorama. Down in the village, you can meet up in the Canorta Bar of the Hotel Cucagna with happy hour and a great atmosphere.

Of course, there is also a sporty leisure programme - with snowtubing and sledging on the Sax snow meadow or on the 5 km-long toboggan run in nearby Nara. Those looking for something out of the ordinary can book ski tours or heli-skiing on site. Other options include curling, ice skating, snowshoeing, horse and dog sledding and paragliding. The sports centre in Disentis also offers more than 20 indoor sports, including climbing and tennis. Water-lovers are drawn to Sedrun's Bogn, a wellness oasis with a sauna area, massage programme and adventure bath. Winter fans can even book a course in igloo building. Those seeking peace and quiet can visit the Benedictine monastery or the monastery museum.

Over 30 restaurants, cafés and bars leave nothing to be desired from a culinary point of view.

Snowpark Disentis: Snowpark Fun- und Crosspark Tegia Gronda

Diesentis itself has a small snowpark with kickers and boxes, which is perfect for snowpark beginners.

But freestyle fans take note! Advanced riders will also find what they're looking for in the neighbouring ski area of Sedrun: In the Tegia Gronda fun and cross park along the ski lift of the same name, you can let off steam on various obstacles. Small and large kickers, boxes and rails provide a good basis for spectacular high-altitude flights and a 100-metre-long pipe rounds off the varied offer. There is also an 800-metre-long ski and boardercross piste. Here, various waves, jumps and five steep bends make for a special adventure. To relax after a strenuous day, the chill lounge with sofas and sound is waiting for you.
