Zell am See

Where is Zell am See located?
The municipality of Zell am See is located at an altitude of 760 m on the fringe of the Hohe Tauern National Park in Austria. Surrounded by mighty peaks, glaciers and gentle hills, the village is located, as its name suggests, idyllically at the Zell Lake. Zell am See's local mountain, the Schmittenhöhe, with an altitude of 2,000 m, offers holidaymakers wonderful nature and experiences in winter and summer. The old town of Zell can look back on a long history dating back to the early Middle Ages. The Ferry Porsche Congress Center, named after the town's honorary citizen, is just as worth seeing as the Grand Hotel Zell am See. The latter has acquired a landmark-like character in the community due to its location directly on the lakeshore and its imposing architectural style. The 6 km long Schmittentunnel keeps through traffic out of the city, so that it is possible to stroll and linger undisturbed in the spacious pedestrian zone lined with beautiful old buildings. Due to its first-class ski area and great selection of leisure time activities, Zell am See has what it takes for a great Austrian holiday.

What's on in Zell am See?
As the tourist centre and district capital of the Pinzgau region, Zell am See offers everything your heart desires. In addition to winter sports and perfect access to several nearby ski areas, Zell am See offers many other events and opportunities for recreation. From summer concerts, mountain festivals, winter dog sled races or ice skating on Lake Zell: there is almost nothing which is not offered. For all those who still want to challenge their luck in the evening, the casino in Zell am See is warmly recommended. Those looking for relaxation will find it not only in the surrounding nature, but also in the nearby TAUERN SPA. In summer, the numerous lidos around the crystal-clear Zeller See offer everything from water skiing to diving platforms. In winter, on the other hand, you can go snowkiting, Nordic walking or, quite classically, skiing in Zell am See.

Zell am See-Kaprun

Zell am See-Kaprun is situated in the heart of Salzburger Land and is one of the most well-known and important holiday regions in all of Austria. It is dominated by the peaks of the surrounding mountains Kitzsteinhorn (3,203 m), Schmittenhöhe (2,000 m) and Maiskogel (1,675 m). Integrated into the Hohen Tauern, the region stands for maximum winter fun. In addition to varied and, thanks to the Kitzsteinhorn glacier, very snow-sure pistes, the region offers its guests a lush leisure programme and unforgettable après ski along with everything else that makes the perfect winter holiday.
