Ski area Zell am See-Kaprun

With the Zell am See-Kaprun lift pass, you have access to the 138 kilometres of piste and over 49 modern lifts in both ski areas Maiskogel and Schmittenhöhe, as well as the glacier ski area on Kitzsteinhorn, stretching up to 3,029 m. From Zell am See you can take the CityXpress, the TrassXpress or the Schmittenhöhe train to quickly reach the Schmittenhöhe ski area (2,000 m), whose runs cater to all levels of difficulty. Pros can try out the 4 km long Trass run, considered to be the most difficult in the whole ski area, or the "Black Mamba" with its incline of up to 63 %.

The Maiskogel ski area is especially suited for families, with a large proportion of wide and blue pistes. At the Mailkogelköpfl lift you'll also find the longest run in the ski region, which is approx. 7 km long. The Kitzsteinhorn (3,203 m) looks after snow security. With its easy and medium-level pistes, it tempts mainly beginners and passionate skiers looking for smooth slopes.

Each of the three ski areas holds it's own fun park with tables, slides and jumps. Freeriders can also find more than enough possibilities to run riot. A total of 5 freeride routes as well as a comprehensive information system with info base and info points is available here. On the Schmittenhöhe, for instance, under Sonnenkogel lift, you have the change to let off steam on the open ski area. In the evening you can put your boots back on as the Schmitten piste is floodlit.

A special highlight in this ski area are the many free Wi-Fi hotspots it offers for all its visitors! Only a few easy steps are required to access the Internet and you can instantly supply your friends and family with your holiday news and photos.

For the winter season of 2018/19 the Schmittenhöhe is planned to be connected with the Skicircus Saalbach Hintergrlemm Leogang Fieberbrunn and the first steps have already been made. From the brandnew zellamseeXpress, only one small connection to Viehhofen in Glemmtal is missing. Neverthless the new lift is sensational as it is: six cabins have a jukebox you can connect with your music.

The Super Ski Card enables you to have access to over 2,750 kilometres of piste and 937 lifts in 23 ski regions, such as the Saalbach-Hinterglemm-Leogang-Fieberbrunn area, the Kitzbühel - Kirchberg ski region or the Salzburger Sportwelt (see ski region).

One of the ski areas in Austria where you can go skiing at night time is the ski area Zell am See-Kaprun. The night ski area can be found at the Ebenbergbahn lift in Zell am See. On night ski days, the regular opening hours end at 15:00 - every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, winter sports fans can then use the approx. 1.5 km, illuminated piste "Nightslope" from 18:30 until 21:00. The night ski experiences also includes a fascinating view of the illuminated resort in the valley. Should you not have a valid lift pass, a ticket for night skiing can be acquired in resort.
