Ski area Aspen Snowmass

A total of four peaks, each with its own distinct terrain, make up the number one ski resort: Aspen/Snowmass! With the ‘Aspen/Snowmass’ ski pass, you can explore the vast terrain of the USA’s fourth-largest ski resort, covering 2,145 hectares, and make use of 46 lifts – with an average annual snowfall of around 7 metres! Snowmass (2,473–3,813 m), with its 1,267 hectares, is not only the most family-friendly but also the largest of the four areas, featuring predominantly intermediate to advanced runs. It also attracts snowboarders with its 3 snow parks and a beginner’s halfpipe. Aspen Highlands (2,451–3,559 m) covers 416 hectares, catering to everyone from beginners to pros. The Highland Bowl in particular is a paradise for true (deep snow) experts! Aspen Mountain (2,422–3,418 m), also known as Ajax, boasts 272 hectares of mostly intermediate to advanced runs that lead straight into the centre of Aspen. The area is equally popular with snowboarders and skiers! Buttermilk (2,399–3,018 m), the fourth and smallest area, offers 190 hectares of mostly easier, wide slopes. It is already legendary as the venue for the ESPN Winter X Games: the five snow parks and the challenging superpipe attract professionals from all over the world!

Après ski Aspen Snowmass

In Aspen, après-ski means sophisticated partying amongst celebrity guests! But it’s not just the rich and famous who gather here; you’ll certainly find a ‘normal’ crowd too. The partying takes place either in the nightclubs or in the numerous bars and cafés along the Mall or Cooper Street. From various live acts and jazz to a Western-style pub, you’ll find it all here! And in the 128 (!) restaurants, you can really treat your taste buds after a tiring day. The choice for a varied leisure programme is also huge: peace and relaxation can be found at the Spa Aspen or the Aspen Wellness Centre. For more action, however, look no further than snowmobile tours, ski tours, the ice rink at the Aspen Ice Garden or even heliskiing! Snowmass offers a very attractive yet affordable alternative: from lovely bars with sun terraces to cosy pubs with live music and local beer, you’ll find it all there. The highlight of the year takes place on Presidents’ Day, the Tuesday of Carnival. Here you can experience a unique carnival parade, which is very reminiscent of German parades.
