Ski area Galibier Thabor

With the lift pass "Galibier Thabor" you have the choice between 30 lifts and 86 pistes with a total length of 160 km. The ski resorts Valmeinier 1500, Valmeinier 1800 and Valloire comprise the fifth-largest ski region in Savoy.

Endless snowy slopes with dreamy pistes for carving and skiing spread out above the mountain village of Valmeinier at Les Gros Crey. The largely undeveloped slopes on the opposite side offer fantastic opportunities for deep-snow skiing. Snowboarders will find a daily-prepared snow park with a half-pipe and a boarder cross section at Crey du Quart near Valloire. The ski region's altitude (70% lies above 2,000 m) and 400 snow-making machines ensure the highest degree of snow-reliability.

Looking for even more variety? Orelle, located just 23 km from Valloire, offers the perfect entry to the "3 Vallées" ski region, the largest interconnect ski region in the world. When presenting your lift pass in Orelle, you will be able to benefit from great reductions on the day passes for the ski area Val Thorens.

Night skiing Valloire

In France, night skiing is a fixed part of the piste offers. Like this, the family-friendly and versatile ski area Galibier Thabor makes it possible to go skiing in the evening. From Valloire on the other side of the ski area, night skiing enthusiasts can take a connecting lift to the night skiing piste. The small but nice night ski area that invites you ski outside the regular lift operation times by night-time. In Valmeiner 1800, for example, an approx. 600 m piste is illuminated by floodlight. The 4-person chairlift Pré Aynard goes up to 1,949 m to the start of the intermediate piste that leads all the way down to the valley station. Actually, it nearly ends on the doorstop of the local pubs and bars! After you have had your night-time skiing fun, the ski bus takes you back to Valloire via the 10 km mountain road.

Après ski Valloire

Not as diverse as the winter sports offers, but surely nothing to be ashamed of, is the pub and bar selection in Valloire. In the bowling centre "La Mafayo" you can not only enjoy throwing over a few pins or playing billiards, but you can also get chatting over a tasty cocktail. Occasionally the pub "Le Bar à Zing" and the alternative café "Mast'Rock" have concerts on offers. Real après ski also includes a good taste of beer. As small as the village of Valloire may be, it does actually have it's own brewery - the highest located brewery in France. Brewed with glacial spring water, this beer tastes fresher than any other. Every Friday there is a beer tasting and sale directly at the brewery.

After you have enjoyed yourself on and off-piste, you may find it is time to relax in the sauna, Turkish steam bath or jacuzzi of the fitness centre "Le Val'Form". Valloire also offers various events and outdoor activities: llama tours, dog sledding, segway in the snow or paragliding - everybody will find what they're looking for here!

Snowpark: Snowpark du Lac de la Vieille Valloire

One of the best snow parks in France, both for beginners and pros, lays in the ski area of Galibier-Thabor, and is called "Snowpark du Lac de la Vielle". Located on the Crey du Quart, the park can be found at the "Chateau Ripaille" lift, between 2,200 and 2,400 m altitude - more or less right between Valmeinier and Valloire. The park offers everything a freestyler may dream of. Various rails and kickers of the 4 levels of difficulty, green, blue, red and black, invite you to perfect your skills. A Big Airbag cares for the necessary safety.

In addition to the Easy and Medium zones, the Expert zone with big airs and handrails awaits the pros among the riders. The boardercross course in the "Lac de la Vieille" Snowpark is also suitable for beginners.

If you want to relax a bit between the rides can cool down in the chill zone, with the right music of course. If you're lucky you can pick up something to eat from the BBQ. This snow park is certainly worth a visit!
