Ski vacations Embach - the family-friendly farm village!

Embach

On the way to Raurisertal, situated between Winkl and Heuberg, quaint Embach is located. The resort is known as the largest farm village in the state of Salzburg, and has the appropriate setting: old farmsteads, small alleys and the authentic life in harmony with nature give the village its quaint charm. Craftsmanship such as bread baking, pottery and of course farming is carried out with heart and soul.

The village is part of the municipality of Lend as is situated on an altitude of 1,013 m on an idyllic high plateau in the Hohe Tauern National Park, and this is an ideal surrounding for mountain sports and experience of nature. Winter sports fans will find a lift directly in resort as well as several attractive ski regions nearby. At Hörndl you cannot only fine pistes, but also snow show- and winter hiking trails, as well as a toboggan run. Embach also scores with further activities beside the piste , such as a curling pitch or a weekly leisure time programme, with fun and games for kids.

Pongau

The district of Pongau borders the provinces of Carinthia, Styria and Upper Austria and is traversed by the impressive Salzach Valley. Surrounded by the mountain ranges of the Hochkönig (2,941 m) and the Hohe Tauern (3,798 m), the region impresses visitors with the dreamlike and romantic atmosphere of its quaint villages and delights alpine winter sports fans with its excellent ski resorts. The latter can see for themselves why St. Johann has such a first-class reputation as one of the most important entry points to the huge "Ski amadé" ski world. A highlight of the massive mountain world is the legendary "Liechtenstein Gorge". Also well worth seeing is the Hohe Tauern National Park in the south of the region – one of the most beautiful natural worlds in Europe. It goes without saying that the sensational surroundings can be explored on a snowshoe hike or on one of the numerous cross-country skiing trails.
