Ski area Feuerkogel

The Feuerkogel ski area is very popular with winter sports enthusiasts with a wide range of interests, as it offers varied slopes for different skill levels. A total of 10 kilometers of slopes and ski routes with a length of 6 km await winter sports lovers. Children and beginners among skiers and snowboarders can let off steam and learn their first turns on the 4 km of blue slopes. Advanced skiers, on the other hand, have the opportunity to prove their skills on another 6 kilometers of slopes, marked red (5 km) and black (1 km). The perfectly groomed slopes are ideal for fast carving. In addition to the classically groomed slopes, there are also ski routes with a length of 6 kilometers of slopes.

The ski area is located at altitudes between 443 m and 1,625 m and there are a total of 9 lifts available. On the high plateau in the ski area, snow lovers can expect a breathtaking 360-degree panoramic view of the surrounding mountains as well as several gorgeous lakes in the valley. In addition, there is a small mountain village with nice restaurants to stop at and plenty of space for tobogganing, snowman building or sledding.

The Feuerkogel ski area is particularly suitable for families with children, as there is a spacious practice slope in the lovingly designed "Franzis Drachenpark" children's area. Here the professionals of tomorrow learn winter sports in a playful way. In addition to professional ski and snowboard instructors, the mascot of the ski area, Franzi, the funny Feuerkogel dragon, provides support. In the children's area there are also fun slopes with colorful gates and poles, as well as two magic carpets and a rope lift with a length of 55 meters. Thus, here are optimal conditions for learning the sport of skiing.

For ski tourers there are several routes, which are signposted and have different levels of difficulty. While experienced tourers go on the more difficult routes, beginners can go on easy tours or take a ski tour accompanied by a mountain guide.

The ski area is popular among winter sports enthusiasts not least because of the high snow reliability. The region in the heart of the Salzkammergut usually brings snowy winters and thanks to numerous snow cannons in the Feuerkogel ski area, skiers and snowboarders can pose down the slopes here even in a rather snow-poor season.

Night skiing Ebensee

Nocturnal skiers and snowboarders can celebrate, because the Feuerkogel ski area regularly opens for late-night skiing. As a rule, piste no. 3 in the popular and varied family ski area is opened once a week in the evening and floodlit, so that skiers and snowboarders can make their turns here even at late hours. After the child-friendly downhill run, you can take the T-bar lift up the mountain. A special highlight is the Night Fun Race, which takes place once a season and is organised by the ski school. A warming drink is available to the nocturnal winter sports enthusiasts during the evening skiing fun at the igloo bar, which is located directly at the slope. One thing is for sure: skiing down a floodlit slope on a starry night is a unique experience for young and old alike that you won't forget in a hurry.

Après ski Ebensee

Ebensee is not an après-ski stronghold and is therefore ideal for families with children. But that doesn't mean that there isn't a wide range of varied activities on offer here after a day's skiing. After an exhausting day on the slopes of the Feuerkogel ski area, winter sports enthusiasts can stop off at the beautiful ski huts on the high plateau, such as the Berggasthof Edelweiss, or at the legendary Ice Bar. Gourmets can also visit one of the restaurants in Ebensee in the evening. One example is the Zur Post restaurant, which offers a large selection of wines and delicious dishes with a regional touch. In addition to the culinary offerings, Ebensee also has a wide range of cultural activities. Those interested in culture can visit sights such as the Kalvarienberg Church Ebensee or the Catholic Parish Church Ebensee. There is also the Kunstraum gallery and the group studio of contemporary women artists, where there is plenty to see.

Nature lovers can look forward to well-signposted winter hiking trails. There is also the possibility to explore the region on snowshoes. Walking along untouched paths through forests covered in deep snow is definitely an experience you won't forget in a hurry.

After a strenuous day on the slopes, however, many winter sports enthusiasts long for rest and relaxation. They will find what they are looking for at the Ebensee indoor swimming pool. In addition to the classic swimming area, there is also a sauna world with two saunas, a steam bath, a fragrance chamber and a relaxation room.

Families with children are also guaranteed to get their money's worth in Ebensee and the surrounding region. For example, there is the possibility of whizzing down selected slopes on a toboggan in the Feuerkogel ski area. The Hochsteinalm natural toboggan run, which is around 10 km from Ebensee and easy to reach by car, is also particularly popular. Sleds can be rented for a fee at the Almgasthof Hochsteinalm. The track is 3.5 km long, covers around 230 metres in altitude and is guaranteed to put a smile on the faces of young and old alike. Also popular with families with children is the natural ice skating rink at Vorderer Langbathsee. This natural lake is one of the lakes in Upper Austria that freeze over in winter. Here, snow lovers can go ice skating or curling. One thing is for sure: Ebensee is never boring, both on and off the slopes.

Snowpark: Snowpark Ebensee

Unfortunately, freestylers will not find a snow park directly in the Feuerkogel ski area. However, winter sports enthusiasts who do not want to do without kickers, rails and various obstacles are guaranteed to get their money's worth in the Dachstein-West ski area, about 40 km away. A total of 4 fun parks await freestylers here - for young and old, for beginners and advanced riders.

In addition to the "Youngsters Freestyle Park Annberg", the "Rookie Park Russbach" and the "Playground Snowpark Gosau", there is the Snowpark Dachstein-West, which impresses with a very wide range of offers. There is an area for beginners and one for advanced riders. In the park, there are beginner elements such as smaller kickers, the Rainbow Butter, Kinked Butter and Wave Butter Box as well as the popular Waverun. Advanced aerialists, on the other hand, let off steam on kickers with 6 - 15 m tables or jib and slide on varied obstacles such as the 9 m long Curved Box and various rails.

The entrance to the Dachstein-West ski area is around 40 km away from Ebensee, can be reached by car in less than an hour and is therefore ideal for a day trip.
