Cross-country La Tzoumaz - Mayens de Riddes

Information on cross-country skiing

22 km Cross-country trails (in km):

With 20 kilometres of cross-country trails, cross-country skiing in Verbier is truly a ‘high-altitude’ experience. The main trail between Les Ruinettes and La Chaux lies at an impressive altitude of 2,300 metres and offers a perfect backdrop against the Combins massif. The network of trails is perfectly groomed for both classic-style and skating-style cross-country skiing. Dedicated circular routes are also being created for ambitious cross-country skiers.

Starting from the Les Ruinettes cable car station, for example, a red cross-country trail covers 1.4 km with a 45-metre climb for advanced skiers, whilst the black cross-country trail over the same distance involves a steep 112-metre climb. You can find suitable cross-country skiing equipment at the local sports shops in Verbier, which have their own hire outlets. The local ski schools help beginners get out onto the cross-country trails using the correct technique.
