Ski area Starý Smokovec
The ski centre at the southern side of Slavkovský štit mountain is ideal for families with children thanks to its mainly blue pistes. The area can be reached with the only cable railway in Slovakia, covering a distance of approx. 2 km and a difference in altitude of 247 m on the way up to the mountain station at Hrebienok. Here you can find a snack bar and a snowtubing run.
Above the mountain station, especially brave skiers can take the tow lift up to the Horná Lúka. This red piste is a demanding one, but ends in the easier Route 1. With a length of 2.3 km, it is the longest piste in the area and is also the valley run which ends nearby the Grandhotel.

Après ski Starý Smokovec
The village itself is a rather quiet place. The inns and hotels of the resort will spoil you with culinary treats. Typically Slovakian dishes are served in e.g. the restaurants Svists or Kolilba. The Grand Hotel Bellevue has two restaurants, and with its "Lucullus Bar" it also offers a place to dance where you can go even late at night for the last drinks of the day.
