Czarna Góra
The Polish small town Stronie Śląskie with 6,500 inhabitants is situated at the foot of Czarna Góra (the "Black Mountain", 1,205 m), approx. 32 km south of Kłodzko and is surrounded by mostly unspoiled landscapes. Every once in a while there are 30 cm of new snow falling per day, making the landscapes a snowy winter wonderland, and offering winter sports fans continuous fun in the powder during the winter months. Kłodzko castle, situated in a 30 ha large area, is one of the most important buildings in Lower Silesia and definitely worth a visit. The district Sienna, approx. 6km south-west of the centre, gives you access to the Czarna Górna ski area.Śnieżnik Mountains
Amidst the Sudetes, an extensive mountain landscape spread over Bohemia and Silesia to the Kłodzko Valley - the Śnieżnik Mountains. The mountains are partly on Czech, partly on Polish area, and the border between the two countries is located directly on the Śnieżnik Kłodzki mountain (1,425 m), the highest peak of the mountain range. The region in Lower Silesia is very charming and not overrun by tourists. Several small winter sports centres offer pistes on all levels of difficulty. Numerous winter hiking paths lead to observation points opening up to wonderful views over the softly sloping and snowy white valleys as well as the Góry Bialskie mountains.The region also has a lot to offer when it comes to cultural sights. It is named after the city Kłodzko, which is also the oldest town in Silesia and a beautiful place to go on a day trip. The historical and charming town has 28,000 inhabitants and is located directly at the Neisse, a tributary of the Oder, which winds through the whole Kłodzko area. Czarna Góra, one of the biggest and most modern ski areas of Poland, can also be found in the region.
