Ski area Eisacktal

The local ski area of Vals is the Jochtal (1,300 - 2,500 m), of which has recently been connected to the Gitschberg ski area. The "Gitschberg-Jochtal" lift pass grants you access to 51 km of piste with 16 lifts. In the village itself, children and beginners will find shallow hills perfect for the first curves round the snow, but Jochtal also offers beginners pistes as well. More demanding skiers will find what they're looking for in the Gitschberg ski area. Families will find three children's parks, whereby freestylers have their own Fun Park and night owls an illuminated piste.

Winter Sports Fans take turns on one of three viewing platforms and gaze out over 500 gorgeous peaks. Ski-tour-goers will also have the opportunity to take on captivating tours, of which can take you up to 2,000 m altitude.

Rules of conduct on ski pistes in Italy

To ensure safety on the ski slopes in Italy, stricter safety regulations have been in force since 2022. In order to use the ski areas, everyone must have liability insurance that covers damage to third parties. It will also be possible to take out this insurance on site for individual days. Drunken skiing is prohibited and punishable by heavy fines, with a maximum of 0.5 mg of alcohol per litre of blood. To reduce the risk of injury, helmets are also compulsory for all minors when skiing, snowboarding or tobogganing.

Après ski Valles

After a long day on the slopes, winter sports fans will find a few après ski bars in the area to help round off the evening. For those who prefer to keep it sporty, it's off to the Fane-Alm for a 3 km long run on the toboggan! The snow-secure upper valley is also full of winter hiking trails and routes for snowshoe hikers.

Snowpark: F-Tech Snow Park Jochtal Valles

The F-Tech Snow Park Jochtal consists of an easy, medium and pro line. Obstacles include rails and boxes as well as 4 tables with small and medium-sized structures. With good snow conditions, an additional little Fun Park on the Gitschberg is available to use as well.
