Ski area Watles - Malles

With the "Zwei Länder Skiarena" lift pass, you have access to a total of approx. 158 kilometres of slopes, approx. 15 kilometres of ski routes and 24 lifts in 3 ski areas: Nauders am Reschenpass, Schöneben-Haideralm and Watles.

The Watles ski area is one of 15 ski areas in the Ortler Ski Arena and is one of the most popular ski areas in the Vinschgau Valley. With its 18 kilometres, it is manageable for families and ideal for leisure skiers of all ages. Here, everyone can enjoy the mild climate, wide slopes with snow-making facilities and panoramic views of the peaks of the Sesvenna Group in the border triangle between Italy, Switzerland and Austria. The "Prämajur" and "Watles" chairlifts take you up to the slopes, with the latter also taking toboggan fans to the popular illuminated natural toboggan run. Children are expertly looked after in the Bubo Kinderpark ski kindergarten. Here, a magic carpet, a ski carousel, a snow locomotive, various play equipment and a children's restaurant await them.

A highlight for speed skiers is the ski cross course, where they can race at breakneck speed over waves, through steep turns and rapid changes of direction on the approximately 1 km long track. Experienced deep snow fans can also enjoy the "Sautal" freeride descent, a magnificent 4.5 km long red route. The 5 km valley descent takes you back to the valley station in the village.

Rules of conduct on ski pistes in Italy

To use the ski areas, you must have valid liability insurance that covers damage or injury to third parties. This can also be taken out on site for individual days. Skiing while intoxicated (0.05% or higher BAC) is prohibited and is punishable by heavy fines. To reduce the risk of injury, wearing a helmet is compulsory for everyone (regardless of age, on all ski runs, in snow parks and on toboggan runs). Anyone who does not comply with the helmet requirement will be fined or banned from the slopes.

Après ski Watles - Malles

If you don't want to end the day in the Watles igloo, you can enjoy a quiet evening after skiing in Malles/Mals. If you still want to get active, you will find great terrain at Watles. There are wonderful hiking trails and snowshoe routes on the slopes above the hamlet of Prämajur, which lead to the Alpine pastures of the adventure mountain and cosy mountain huts. Hikers should also not miss the view from the peak of the Spitziger Lun (2,324 m), the local mountain of Mals.

In the village itself, the modern sports and wellness centre "Sport Well" offers a whole range of leisure activities for after skiing. These include a swimming pool, fitness rooms, sauna, tennis courts, a skittles / skittle alley and a beauty area for cosmetic and massage treatments. If you like tobogganing, Mals is the right place for you: there is a 4 km night toboggan run directly in the Watles ski area, which can be reached with the Watles lift. Alternatively, the mountain pasture can also be climbed on foot. In addition, approx. 10 km north of Mals is Lake Reschen, a top spot on the ice skating scene with a 2 km long track for skating.

Snowpark Watles - Malles: Snowpark

There is no snow park in the Watles - Mals ski area. However, with the "Zwei Länder Skiarena" lift pass, you can try out the snow park in Nauders am Reschenpass.
