Ski area Ladurns

The Ladurns lift pass opens up around 16 kilometres of pistes at altitudes between 1,140 m and 2,023 m in the Ladurns ski region. The ski area is embedded in the breathtaking snow-covered mountain ranges of the Wipp Valley, between Sterzing and Brenner, in the Pflerschtal. This former climatic health resort is beloved especially by families and therefore, mainly pistes for beginners and advanced skiers are offered. Though there are also pistes for pros, such as, for example, the famous red Patrick Staudacher route. The Ladurns ski area has already been awarded as an insider tip within the small ski areas and with that, provides a high quality ski school, children's entertainment (children's area) and various après ski opportunities, such as bars and concerts.

Altogether there is one tow and two chair lifts in the Ladurns ski area. For beginners the ski area has a practice piste with three magic carpets and a tow lift, a ski school for all ages and an extensive children's area with supervision. In the Ladurns ski area, parents have the opportunity to enjoy the pistes together while their children learn to ski safely. The northern side of the ski area has wide slopes with a breathtaking view of a fascinating mountain panorama, which are particularly suitable for beginners and advanced skiers. Meanwhile, the more athletic skiers and snowboarders can find their challenge on the black Ladurns IV or the Patrick Staudacher piste. Equally popular to this is the valley run down to Ladurns, which starts at the Ladurnshütte. This 4.5 km long part of a red piste is, for many guests, the highlight of the ski area.

Whenever a break is needed, three different rustic mountain huts will welcome you with open doors. Here the whole family is taken care of and provided with excellent South Tyrolean specialities such as "Kaiserschmarren" with apple purée (type of mashed pancake).

For those who are not interested in the normal pistes anymore, the ski tours can be an exciting alternative, during which you will be athletically challenged in every way. Gossensass and Pflerschtal have a perfect ski tour terrain due to their excellent location on the northern slopes and therefore offer various trails through the snowy valleys and mountains. Additionally, guests can take part in avalanche courses and guided mountain tours.

For those who still cannot get enough, the neighbouring Rosskopf ski area, near Sterzing, offers an additional 15 kilometres of pistes.

Rules of conduct on ski pistes in Italy

In order to ensure safety on the ski pistes in Italy, new safety regulations will come into force from 2022. In order to use the ski areas, everyone must have liability insurance that covers damage to third parties. It will also be possible to take out this insurance on site for individual days. Drunken skiing is prohibited and punishable by heavy fines, with a maximum of 0.5 mg of alcohol per litre of blood. To reduce the risk of injury, helmets are also compulsory for all minors when skiing, snowboarding or tobogganing.

Après ski Gossensass

For those who are looking for some entertainment or après ski after an exciting day on the piste, Gossensass has a lot to offer. Gossensass itself has a theatre and a concert hall. To end your day on the piste in a more relaxing way or just to have a beer, there are various bars, cafés and restaurants with culinary specialities and drinks. To ensure that it does not get boring during the holidays, an ice skating rink is also available every year. Additionally, in Gossensass and the surrounding villages, various other events and activities are offered such as, for example, a romantic carriage ride through the magnificent snow, in the village Ratschings, which is only a 20 minute car ride away.

If you are looking for pure relaxation, the snow-covered "Balneum" sauna area is the right place for you. It is the perfect location to just relax and switch off after a day of skiing. A warm feeling of well-being and cosiness is guaranteed. The entire family is welcome to spend their time in the indoor pool, of course.
