Ski area Plose - Bressanone

The "Gitschberg Jochtal-Brixen" lift pass offers fun and variety in Brixen-Plose and Gitschberg-Jochtal on a total of 98 kilometres of piste.

Only around seven kilometres from Brixen is the town's local mountain, the Plose, where you can ski at altitudes of 1,039 to 2,505 metres and enjoy a fantastic view of the Dolomites. The clearly laid out ski area with seven lifts and 44 kilometres of piste is ideal for families. While the children have fun on the practice slope at the Randötschlift or in the Kinderland, adults can let off steam on the longest groomed descent in South Tyrol, the Trametsch. It is 9 km long and covers more than 1,400 metres in altitude. In addition to great pistes and rustic hut magic, plenty of fun awaits winter sports enthusiasts on the Plose. Fast skiers can have their speed measured at the Plose Speed Check. The measuring station is located directly opposite the Schönbodenlift mountain station.

The neighbouring Gitschberg-Jochtal ski area has 15 lift systems and almost 54 km of pistes. It consists of the Gitschberg ski area (2,510 m) above Meransen and the Jochtal ski area (up to 2,100 m) near Vals. From Tuesday to Saturday, there is always a charming piste guide on the slopes: the "Cavaliera". Wearing a tailcoat and top hat, she immediately stands out and has the best tips and assistance for skiers. In addition, "La Cavaliera" offers various special activities that guests can take part in free of charge during the week. Three ski schools - one of which has been awarded the Golden Children's Ski School Seal of Quality - as well as the Kinderland in Meransen, the Kinderwelt at the Nesselbahn and the Gimmy Fun Ride in Jochtal also make the ski area extremely family-friendly. On the Gitschberg, a 360° panoramic platform also offers a fantastic view of the main Alpine ridge, the Zillertal, Stubai and Ötztal Alps and up to 500 Dolomite peaks.

The upgrade to the "Dolomiti Superski" lift pass also enables skiing in 12 ski areas with approx. 1,200 kilometres of piste in total (see ski region).

Rules of conduct on ski pistes in Italy

To ensure safety on the ski slopes in Italy, stricter safety regulations have been in force since 2022. In order to use the ski areas, everyone must have liability insurance that covers damage to third parties. It will also be possible to take out this insurance on site for individual days. Drunken skiing is prohibited and punishable by heavy fines, with a maximum of 0.5 mg of alcohol per litre of blood. To reduce the risk of injury, helmets are also compulsory for all minors when skiing, snowboarding or tobogganing.

Après ski Plose - Bressanone

To round off a successful day on the piste in style, Brixen offers a wide range of options. Away from the pistes, a number of huts and après ski bars invite you to socialise. The numerous restaurants and guesthouses offer a nice and cosy ambience as well as a variety of dishes. Those with a sweet tooth should not miss the "Pupp" café. Here, nine pastry chefs create over 100 delicious cakes and pastries every day.

Active alternatives to skiing are winter hikes, guided snowshoe hikes and the two toboggan runs on the Plose. At 9 km long, the RudiRun is the longest natural toboggan run in South Tyrol. You will find relaxation in the "Acquarena", where a large selection of water, wellness and fitness offers await you on 12,000 m² - the sauna area with outdoor sauna alone takes up 1,200 m².

Snowpark Plose - Bressanone: Snowpark

Unfortunately, the Plose ski area does not offer a fun park. However, the Gimmy Fun Ride awaits you in neighbouring Gitschberg Jochtal: a fun slope full of action and variety for young and old. Look forward to a colourful mix of boxes, kickers, steep turns and a snail at the end. Funny noises and a cool clapping figure provide additional entertainment on the course. A special highlight is the integrated kids' cross track, where little racers will get their money's worth!
