Ski area Bardonecchia

With the lift pass "Bardonecchia" you can enjoy a wonderful skiing holiday on a total of 100 km of piste and 23 lifts. During the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, all the snowboard competitions took place in Bardonecchia: parallel giant slalom, boarder cross and half-pipe. But skiers will love the region too!

The larger of the two areas starts in the town centre at Campo Smith and is ideal for both beginners and experienced skiers. The well prepared pistes, that sometimes run through the woods, are very snow-sure due to the high altitude and the snow cannons. The Jaffereau area (2,800 m) on the other side of the town is very popular with highly advanced skiers. It provides great off-piste opportunities and offers a stunning view of the surrounding mountainside.

Rules of conduct on ski pistes in Italy

In order to ensure safety on the ski pistes in Italy, new safety regulations will come into force from 2022. In order to use the ski areas, everyone must have liability insurance that covers damage to third parties. It will also be possible to take out this insurance on site for individual days. Drunken skiing is prohibited and punishable by heavy fines, with a maximum of 0.5 mg of alcohol per litre of blood. To reduce the risk of injury, helmets are also compulsory for all minors when skiing, snowboarding or tobogganing.

Après ski Bardonecchia

Along the pistes you can find several bars and restaurants offering food and drinks to restore your energy. Down in the valley you can sit in the sun and enjoy a little après ski on the terrace of one of the many cafés. Later in the evening you can spoil yourself in one of the cosy restaurants with some regional specialities and a good glass of wine.

If you feel like a little more activity after a day on the slopes, the Campo Smith offers a fully equipped fitness centre, with, amongst other things, sauna and a massage area. Furthermore, there is an indoor pool, an ice rink and snowshoeing, as well as tennis, basketball and volleyball courts. In order to entertain the visitors, Bardonecchia offers a variety of shows and events in the "Palazzo delle Feste".

Snowpark: Snowpark Bardonecchia

The Bardonnechia snow park will have all snowboarder and freestyler hearts beat faster. From kickers, via rails and boxes, right up to a fully flood-lit, Olympic half-pipe you can be sure to find everything you are looking for. The half-pipe is 130 m long, 18 m wide and 6 m high - the only of its kind in Europe. The entire fun park is fitted with a modern sound system and provides quite an unusual atmosphere. Further there is lounge area with free Wi-Fi, sofas, video games, Skullcandy zone and bar. This is where you also might find the best parties going on.

The snow park was designed to offer both beginners and pros things to do. Therefore the park was structured into various areas according to skill levels: Red Park, for intermediates to pros; Blue Park, for beginners and freestylers with less experience; and Burton park, for kids beginners. During the last season the new JIBBING PRO piste, covering 600 m and running through a forest, was added to the park features.
