Ski area Am Hainberg

Not far from the centre of Olbernhau lies an inviting piste on the northern slope of the Hainberg. A tow lift brings you to the entrance of the 480 m long piste, from where you have a nice view over the Flöhatal valley and the town of Olbernhau. The slope can be lit up in the evening, so the skiing and snowboarding fun can last until the evening time. There is also a child-friendly toboggan run right next door. After the skiing and tobogganing fun, the hut "An der Frankenwarte" invites you to stop by.

Après ski Olbernhau

After skiing, Olbernhau is a cosy place to be at. With its attractive views, the Hainberg is the ideal afternoon excursion destination. From the Frankenwarte lift station, head straight into the forest on the "Rübenauer Weg", where a magnificent view over the valley awaits you. Not far from the ski lift, the winter hiking trail "Rund um den Kamm" (Around the Ridge) takes you through 9.5 km of Ore Mountain nature. Below the ski slope, there are wonderful sledding opportunities as the Olbernhau Ski Club makes sure that the paths are properly prepared. The gentle hills around the village offer all around tobogganing fun. In close proximity, there are various toboggan slopes, such as, in the Bärenbachtal valley, in the Poppsches Gut residential area or in the Rothenthal district.

In the evening, you can enjoy some bowling at the "Via Roma" bowling alley and finish with a pizza from the linked restaurant. The other guest houses and hotel restaurants also offer regional and international dishes to suit every palate. The small local swimming pool also contains a sauna, where you can relax in a Finnish and an organic sauna. If you want to party a little later in the evening, you will find a discotheque in the village: the "Halle Olbernhau" which offers live DJs and a wide variety of music genres.

Snowpark: Snowpark Olbernhau

Unfortunately, there is no snow park on the slope at Hainberg. However, only an hour's drive from Olbernhau is Oberwiesenthal which is home to an attractive ski centre on the Fichtelberg and connects you to the Czech ski area on the Klinovec. Two magnificent snow parks await you here.
