Location and facilities

Enjoy a comfortable holiday in your "own four walls" and watch the snowflakes fall from your heated living room. Winter camping has its very own charm and is very trendy!

The comfortable Camping Zugspitze campsite lies about 2.5 km away from the resort centre of Grainau. The centre of Garmisch-Partenkirchen can be reached after about 2 km and the ski area can be reached after about 3 km. The ski bus stops only about 50 m from the campsite. Shopping facilities can also be found in the immediate vicinity.

The high-quality holiday complex offers a reception, the restaurant "Schmölzer Wirt" with good Bavarian cuisine, Wi-Fi (availability is dependent on the location), bistro, modern "Alpen-Spa" with sauna, vinotheque, sun terrace and ski room. Free parking spaces (upon availability) and a charging station for electric cars (for a fee) are also available.
The new indoor golf course invites you to practise or play a round of golf and is suitable for beginners (HCP required), amateurs and professionals (see information on site).

In resort, you will receive the Grainau-Card after paying the tourist tax. This grants you access to free use of the Eibsee buses and the Zugspitz train each from Grainau to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, from Grainau to Eibsee and in the district of Grainau during your stay. You can also enjoy one-time free entry at the beginning of each week-long stay to the Zugspitzbad Grainau as well as free use of e.g. the cross-country trails, sports programme and water gymnastics (subject to change, as per info in resort).

Camping Pitch and Board

Your camping pitch at the campsite comes with winter-proof supply columns (electricity, water, waste water) and, on request, fixed gas connections (all charged according to consumption on site). In addition, the "comfort" pitch allows you to use the high-quality sanitary facilities of the campsite, while the "premium" pitches have their own private bathroom right at to the pitch (shower fees and fresh water incl.). Important notes

  • No lift pass voucher is issued for children aged 5 or under as they receive a free lift pass when accompanied by a parent. However, when participating in ski lessons, they will need their own valid lift pass (payable in resort, further information can be found at the lift office).
