Ski area Spitzenberg/Köpfle, Hofeck

In Bernau, you have the choice between two ski areas with a total of 12 km of piste and six lifts: the Spitzenberg/Köpfle in Bernau-Innerlehen and the Hofeck ski area in the district of Hof. Am Spitzenberg/Köpfle, four tow lifts open up onto the pistes, of which are marked red on the Köpfle and blue on the Spitzenberg. Little winter sports fans can spend their time in the children's area with a magic carpet to help them practice their moves in the snow. You can even continue skiing through the evening thanks to the approx. 2 km long illuminated piste. The Hofeck ski area lies a bit more north and not far from the Bernau cross-country centre. Two tow lifts can be found here, which bring you up to blue, red and even black pistes. Both ski areas can be artifically snowed up, are easily manageable and are designed for both leisure skiers and families with children.

Après ski Bernau im Schwarzwald

Besides skiing, you'll find further opportunities in Bernau to experience the unique nature and culture of the Black Forest. A total of 40 km of winter hiking trails are available to explore, stretching through the high-lying valley, with nine somewhat shorter trails between 2 and 6 km being perfect for families with children. Those of you who are somewhat fitter can make their way along one of the two snowshoe trails with lengths of 3 and 7.5 km. The paths are compacted so that you can easily navigate on foot. A snowshoe tour also runs along the Herzogenhorn mountain, which brings you to the Krunkelbachhütte, a mountain hut at an altitude of 1,300 m. By the way: to get to the hut, you can comfortably ride in the PistenBully taxi. If you're not up for walking the entire way back, you can just ride down into the valley on the 3.5 km long toboggan run instead - this one being one of the longest toboggan runs in the Black Forest. Moreover, the cross-country centre in Bernau-Oberlehen also has a snowtubing area with three runs at 250 m length each for big and little snow fans alike.

If you've got red cheeks and tired feet, Bernau is the right place for your cosy evening. A dozen restaurants, taverns and cafes will get your mouth watering with their regional cuisines. Not only that, but the owners of these venues make sure to support their local agriculture by utilising the products from the local Southern Black Forest Nature Park.

Snowpark: Snowpark Bernau im Schwarzwald

Unfortunately, there is no snowpark to be found on the slopes in Bernau. However, just a few kilometres away in Feldberg, you'll find an excellent offer for freestylers: the MINI Snowpark in Feldberg belongs to the top snowparks in Germany and gets both skiers and snowboarders' hearts pumping. A well-thought, diverse set up awaits fans up at the top. Many diverse forms of boxes and rails are the speciality of the shaping crew and quite a few kickers in different sizes help round off the park's demanding parcour theme.
