In French western Alps lies the picturesque Maurienne valley, surrounded by the majestic 3,000-metre peaks of the Vanoise massif. Here is the source of the river Arc, that softly winds through the Haute Maurienne and it's side valleys. The valley is relatively easily reached via the large and also beautiful mountain passes Col de l'Iseran and Col du Mont Cenis.
