Cross-country Fernie

When heading out from Fernie, you can enter 3 diverse cross-country areas. Fernie Alpine Resort (14 km) and Island Lake Lodge have challenging trails for advanced cross-country skiers, some areas for classic cross-country skiers, and some areas for skating. The 12 km long circular course of Island Lake has a sophisticated, steep ascent to the lodge. Up there, you can a further, 5 km long parcours around the lake with a stunning outlook. The Tamarack Lodge, by the way, is well know for its excellent food. The Fernie Golf Course (8 km), with its level ground, is an ideal experience for beginners. For some areas, a day pass must be bought from the Fernie Nordic Society, of which the price being 5 CND at the moment.
