Location

The cosy Wildkogelhaus mountain hut (2,005 m) enjoys a unique location right in the heart of the Wildkogelarena ski area. In the mornings, you’ll have no trouble being the first on the pistes, and in the evenings, the last. The centre of Bramberg is approx. 13 km away, and Neukirchen am Großvenediger is approx. 17 km away. The village centre can only be reached by lift and during the lift’s opening hours. Accommodation at the Wildkogelhaus mountain hut is available in either the old or the new building.

Facilities

Our lovingly furnished hotel offers various amenities, such as a reception (only for check-in), Wi-Fi, a breakfast room, a hotel restaurant, a parlour and a hotel bar. Guests can store their ski and snowboarding equipment in a ski cellar. Drivers can use a public parking area (for a fee) - subject to availability.

Spa

The 250 m² large wellness area invites its guests to indulge body and soul. When it’s time to replenish your energy, you have a choice between different facilities including a Finnish sauna, an organic sauna, an infrared cabin and a spa shower. Let the stress of everyday life dissipate in the relaxation room with swing loungers or recharge in the refreshment area with water.

High chairs can be used free of charge (upon request and availability).

Night toboggan runs are held on certain days of the week (for a fee).

Board

The half board catering plan includes a welcome drink and a rich buffet style breakfast (07:00 - 09:30) with regional products. At dinner (18:30 - 19:30), our cooks put together a 4-course menu with 2 various options for the main course. A Christmas dinner is held at Christmas (24.12.), on New Year's Eve there is a festive dinner. On request, we also serve vegetarian alternatives.

Important notes

• Minimum age sauna area: 16 years
• When booking several-bed rooms or rooms with extra beds, there is no entitlement to the additional beds in the event of under-occupancy.
• This accommodation is not wheelchair-accessible.
• Please note: Your accommodation Schutzhütte Wildkogelhaus is located in the middle of the ski area at 2005 m, arrival is only possible by lift (Smaragdbahn in Bramberg) and within the lift opening hours. Arrival is not possible after 16:00! On the day of arrival, you can use the lift free of charge starting at 15:00 to get to your accommodation, provided you have booked a lift pass for the following day. Departure with the lift is possible until 11:00 with the lift pass included. You can take your luggage up the mountain on the gondola free of charge and it will be deposited at the mountain station, marked Wildkogelhaus. Luggage is transported automatically between the lift and the hut and can only be transported outside of operating hours (i.e. only from 08:30 - 09:00 and from 16:30).
• A lift pass is required for arrival and departure. If you have not booked a lift pass, a ticket for the ascent and descent must be purchased on site (see information at the lift ticket office).
• You can reach your accommodation from the mountain station either on foot via the toboggan run (approx. 10 min.) or directly on skis (approx. 1 min.). The village centre can also only be reached by lift and during lift opening hours.
• Please note that a maximum of 6 rooms share 2 x shower/WC in the old building rooms with shower and WC in the corridor.
• There are no bathrobes available.
• The mountain hotel is not suitable for children under age 6.
• Please note that you are not allowed to bring your own drinks into the hut on arrival.
• If you have booked equipment through us, the ski hire is located in Neukirchen am Großvenediger (approx. 6 km from the valley station of the Smaragdbahn in Bramberg)
