Ski area Wildkogel Arena

The "Wildkogel-Arena", situated between the Kitzbühel Alps and the Tauern ridge, offers skiers and snowboarders 75 kilometres of slopes – the perfect setting for a fantastic skiing holiday.

The ski area boasts 20 modern and comfortable lifts – ranging from platter lifts to the newly built 10-seater gondola lift, the "Ganzer X-press". The Smaragdbahn departs from Bramberg, whilst the Wildkogelbahn departs from Neukirchen. Once at the top, the viewing terraces offer a magnificent panorama of the Hohe Tauern National Park, with views of the many three-thousand-metre peaks and the "highest peak in Salzburg", the Großvenediger (3,666 m). The ski area comprises 85 per cent blue or red runs and, with this predominantly easy to moderately difficult terrain, is particularly suitable for families with children and leisure skiers. The wonderfully wide runs offer plenty of space for carving and snowboarding.

Beginner-friendly areas await young skiers both on the Skiwiese at the Preimislift in Neukirchen and at the Wennsergletscher family ski lift in Bramberg. The youngest children are lovingly looked after in the "Kogel-Mogel" children’s area. Freestylers will find plenty to enjoy in the newly created, easy fun park at the "Wolkenstein" platter lift.

The valley runs down to Neukirchen and Bramberg can both be fully covered with artificial snow. The run down to Bramberg, at 14 km, is the longest in the ski area – and that’s not all: it’s also home to the world’s longest illuminated toboggan run.

The Wildkogel-Arena ski resort is also regarded as a particularly eco-friendly ski destination: at an altitude of 2,100 metres lies one of Europe’s highest solar power stations – a photovoltaic system that covers 75 per cent of the Wildkogel lifts’ total electricity requirements. Furthermore, the Wildkogel-Arena is a member of the "Alpine Pearls", an association dedicated to environmentally friendly holidays.

The upgrade to the "Zillertal Super Ski Pass" offers even more variety and fun on the slopes. Across the additional approx. 465 kilometres of slopes in the Zillertal Arena, the Mayrhofner Bergbahnen (Mountopolis), the Ski & Glacier World Zillertal 3000, and the Hochzillertal – Hochfügen – Spieljoch ski area, skiers and snowboarders will find a wide range of options for every ability level. As a special highlight, we recommend a trip to the Hintertux Glacier. At 3,250 m, a magnificent view awaits you, and as the highlight, a 12 km-long descent into the valley!

Après ski Wildkogel Arena

There is a wide range of winter activities away from the pistes in Neukirchen. For example, go on an extensive winter hike, take a ride in a horse-drawn sleigh, watch wild animals at a feeding session or go on a horseback ride through the dreamlike, romantic winter landscape. Particularly daring holidaymakers can enjoy a bird's eye view of the region's breathtaking scenery while paragliding.

A very special highlight is tobogganing fun on the longest floodlit toboggan run in the world! From Bramberg, take the Smaragdbahn cable car to an altitude of almost 2,100 metres, where the start of the run is located. From Neukirchen, you can take the Wildkogelbahn lift to the ski area and reach the start of the run in 10 minutes on foot. From here, you can whizz down a full 14 kilometres to Bramberg. That means a difference in altitude of 1,300 metres!

For après ski fun, head to one of the numerous umbrella bars and pubs in the village, some of which invite you to the dance floor until late in the evening.

Snowpark Wildkogel Arena: Snow park

In the "Wildkogel-Arena" there is a small but excellent fun park, which is particularly suitable for beginners with its easy lines. Here you can let off steam on various boxes and kickers. The park is located at the "Wolkenstein" tow lift.
