Ski area Almenwelt Lofer
The ski area in the centre of the Salzburger Saalachtal valley stretches from 640 to 1,670 m above sea level and, with its wide, flat alpine pastures, offers predominantly easy to moderately difficult descents.
The modern 8-seater "SenderExpress" chair lift is particularly popular with families, as the child-safe lift with automatically closing safety bars takes even the little ones safely to the peak. New blue descents lead downhill, which are ideal for those first turns.
Thanks to the numerous snow-making facilities in the lower areas, the 9 km descent to the valley is possible almost all season long and offers pure skiing pleasure. If you are looking for a challenge, head to the Hochwena alpine piste: The black descent stretches across the steep northern slopes on the Grubhörndl (1,747 m).
The pleasantly manageable family ski area offers some nice practice slopes for beginners and for little skiers at the valley and mountain stations of the gondola lift. The good children's facilities make for a wonderful skiing holiday for the whole family!
For those looking for even more skiing fun, the "3 Länder Freizeit-Arena" is just the thing. The 163 kilometres of piste and 52 lifts in the Almenwelt Lofer, St. Johann in Tirol/Oberndorf, Erpfendorf Lärchenhof, Buchensteinwand - Bergbahn Pillersee, Kirchdorf, Steinplatte-Waidring, Winklmoosalm - Reit im Winkl and Natur Sport Heutal ski areas offer unlimited skiing fun for young and old!
Après ski Almenwelt Lofer
Lofer also has plenty to offer in terms of sport: Whether you take a few leisurely laps on the ice rink, venture down a fast-paced descent on the toboggan run in Lofer or enjoy the great views around the sun-drenched Loferer Alm plateau on the wonderful winter hiking trails (approx. 76 km) - boredom is definitely not an option here. Another insider tip is a guided tour of the Lamprechtshöhle cave near St. Martin, the world's largest passage cave.
Snowpark Almenwelt Lofer: LOFI Funline
Almenwelt Lofer also offers great and varied activities away from the classic-style pistes, especially for children. The LOFI Funline along the Family Express is a playground for kids and provides plenty of variety for all children with wave runs, jumps and obstacles. The Witches' Funline on the new 8-seater SenderExpress chair lift also provides fun and excitement for children. Witch figures are a constant companion on an adventurous ski descent through the forest and allow young and old to immerse themselves in a fairytale world.
