Ski area Gries-Längenfeld

The skiing area Gries-Längenfeld with its 1 km long blue piste is very manageable, but therefore perfect for beginners and families with children: There are no long waiting times at the drag lift, and the perfectly groomed slope between 1,600 and 1,700 m is perfect for practising your first turns on skis or snowboards.

In addition, the ski area offers 100% snow security thanks to two snow-making systems - even though you can usually count on natural snow in Gries due to the altitude. The snow sports school Gries offers ski courses for beginners of all ages. For all snow lovers, the slope is also floodlit once a week in the evening for night skiing.

If you are looking for more kilometres of piste, you should think about a ski pass extention to the "Ötztaler Superskipass": With this, winter holiday-makers can look forward to no less than 356 kilometers of piste available - in the ski areas Sölden, Ober-/Hochgurgl, Hochoetz and Vent.

Night skiing Gries im Ötztal

Once a week the slope of the Gries ski area is transformed into a night ski slope. Every Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., night skiing can be practised by young and old alike. Skiing under floodlights and stars - a great offer that every Gries holidaymaker should have experienced!

Après ski Gries im Ötztal

The Tyrolean mountain village of Gries is a tranquil place when it comes to après ski. You will not find any après ski parties here, but the possibility to get on a toboggan after skiing. Excellent prepared toboggan runs from the Nissl Alm and the Sulztal Alm promise toboggan fun including the best catering.

Alternatively, you can take a leisurely winter hike through the snow-covered landscape high above Längenfeld. Or you can go down into the valley and take advantage of the wide range of gastronomic offers. The famous Längenfeld thermal spa "Aqua Dome" is also definitely worth a visit!

In case you still feel like having an après ski party, you should head for Sölden, which is about 30 minutes away by car.

Snowpark: Snowpark Gries im Ötztal

In the ski area Gries - Längenfeld there is no snowpark. With the upgrading of the Ötztaler Superskipass, however, you have access to various snow parks, for example in Sölden. At the Giggijoch, under the chair lifts Hainbachkar and Silberbrünnl, is the freestyle pearl of the Ötztal, the AREA 47 Snowpark Sölden. Park designer Tomek Zwolak and his crew provide freshly shaped obstacles every day, so that the 6 hectare park, situated at 2,450 m above sea level, leaves nothing to be desired. Here beginners to pros can freestyle properly and prove their skills in three different levels of difficulty. Lots of kickers, tubes, rails and boxes provide plenty of variety. The extra icing on the cake is provided by different jibs like the Jibcan, so that the riders can show their creativity at the highest level. To switch off and relax, there is also a chill area with an appropriate sound system.

Since the 17/18 winter season there is a 650 m long Funslope in Sölden in addition to the Snowpark. It doesn't matter if you are an absolute beginner or an advanced skier, as the Funslope is mainly there to have fun while you ride over waves and small kickers and enjoy the panoramic view.
