Ski vacations Gnadenwald – Idyll in the Karwendel mountains!

Gnadenwald

The idyllic village of Gnadenwald lies to the east of Innsbruck and at the foot of the Karwendel. Long known only as the "mountain above Terfens", the area with its two church villages of St. Martin and St. Michael has developed into its own municipality with around 700 inhabitants. Situated above the Inn Valley and on a plateau around 900 metres above sea level, Gnadenwald is blessed with hours of sunshine, making it an ideal place to enjoy the mountain nature to the full and switch off. In winter, Gnadenwald is a particularly good starting point for cross-country skiers: There is a track for classic cross-country skiers as well as another for more athletic skiers. If you want to go skiing or snowboarding, we recommend the Glungezer ski area, approx. 13 km away.

Ski Region Innsbruck

The ski region around Tyrol's capital Innsbruck is surrounded by a stunningly beautiful mountain backdrop. Innsbruck offers the unique opportunity to spend your holiday in one of Europe's most beautiful cities and yet be almost "in the middle of the ski area" – an ideal destination for anyone who wants to combine their skiing holiday with culture! As the venue for the 1964 and 1976 Winter Olympics, the ski resorts enjoy a first-class international reputation. In addition to a multitude of sights in Innsbruck itself, the surrounding area also has a lot to offer. For example, the pilgrimage church of St. Peter and St. Paul is a special feature with its architecture and acoustics. An alternative destination is Ambras Castle, which is located above Innsbruck and is one of the most famous sights in the provincial capital.
