Ski area Großglockner Resort Kals-Matrei
Through the merging of the ski areas Matrei and Kals, the new Grossglockner Resort (933 - 2,422 m), with 37 km of piste and 17 lifts, forms the largest ski area in East Tyrol. The former 110 km of pistes have shrunken due to the new measurements of the area, but the pistes themselves have, of course, stayed the same. Numerous diverse pistes for beginners and ambitious skiers invite to enjoy seemingly limitless and snow sure skiing pleasure.
The gondola Goldried brings you from Matrei directly into the ski area. Directly at the mountain station there is a children's ski park with magic carpet and heated lounge. Snowboarders can run riot in the fun park with slides and jumps! Those who have enough endurance, should definitely try the 11 km long valley run "Goldried" to Matrei. Pros will find challenging black pistes at the Cimaross towards Matrei, as well as from the Blauspitze to Kals.
