Ski area Golm

With the lift pass "Golm" you will have access to nearly 44 km of pistes (incl. ski routes) , which are well connected through 12 lift systems. With a majority of blue and red pistes, beginners and families should feel comfortable. For fans of deep snow, there's also a few good opportunities. A special thrill can be experienced on the Diablo-Piste, which, with a gradient of 70%, is the steepest slope in Vorarlberg! The longest downhill run with 9.2 km and 1,460 m difference in altitude is also challenging and demands a lot from even the best skiers and snowboarders. Here, you go from the Rätikonbahn mountain station directly down to the Golmerbahn valley station in Vandans.

The first-class ski area "Silvretta-Montafon", of which can be reached directly from Schruns and has received several awards, is with its 141 km of piste (incl. ski routes) the largest ski area in Montafon. "Silvretta Montafon" was created in 2008 and comprises the ski areas Silvretta Nova on the left side of the valley, and Gaschurn and Hochjoch on the right side of the valley nearby Schruns, Silvertal.

Thanks to the balanced division between blue, red and black pistes, everyone will find the right descent here: beginners have several practice lifts at their disposal, including at the Gaschruns valley station, and the easy pistes from Kapell to Grasjoch are also recommended. The 2.8 km-long "Piste 44" is more geared to the well-experienced riders. If you are looking for some action, you should not miss a try on the 5 steepest slopes in the area - the "Black Scorpion" is definitively only suited for extreme riders! On the longest valley run in Vorarlberg, you can finally descend from the Hochjoch Totale down to Schruns over an elevation difference of 1,700 metres. The two permanent racetracks at Spatla and Platina Bahn invite you to race with other daredevil skiers and on the speed track Piste 41 you can even find out what your maximum speed is - so get on your skis and step on the gas!

Secured deep powder snow and freeride areas provide loads of fun, away from the prepared pistes - for instance around the popular Hochjoch. A highlight for freestylers is the "Snowpark Montafon". To make this park happen, the former 780 m long fun park "Nova Park" was moved to the Grasjoch and then enlarged considerably. With the new "Freda Bahn" you can also enjoy Austria's first Freeridecross, which at 800 m with lots of wave tracks, steep curves and a tunnel offers a lot of fun for the whole family.

Après ski Bartholomäberg

At the Bella Nova lies the largest ice bar in Europe, a popular meeting place where you can take a culinary journey through Italy with special offers like a pick-your-own-toppings pizza and much more. A further recommended location is the spacious terrace of the "Sternbar" at the Nova Stoba, located directly at the gondola mountain station of Gaschurn. A new highlight is the Vinnova: at an altitude of 2,000 m, it's the highest wine parlour in Voralberg and definitely worth a visit for its over 100 different wines, diverse tapas and breathtaking view.

Further, throughout the ski area there are numerous après ski facilities - from small ski huts, right up to massive restaurants. You will benefit from an extensive offer of food here: be it local dishes or exquisite culinary experience. At the end of the day, you can stow away your skis and enjoy the full range of après ski at the valley stations of the Silvretta Nova with huts, umbrella bars and ski pubs.

Away from the pistes there are various toboggan runs in the Montafon - including the 5.5 km long (and therefore longest in Vorarlberg) night toboggan run. At the Garfrescha lift you can participate in night tobogganing every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, which is also already included in the lift pass! You can also enjoy a hearty mountain meal in the Alpengasthof Garfrscha and let the evening come to an end in a rustic atmosphere (toboggan hire and evening meal not included). If you prefer ice-skating, you can do that on the natural ice rink in Partenen. And climbers will find entertainment even in winter: on the winter via ferrata "Burg".

An alternative to party and tobogganing, and definitively worth while, is snowshoe hiking around Bartholomäberg. Various marked routes take snowshoe hikers right around the village. The routes range from easy to difficult and so cover all levels of ability. In 3.5 hours you can, for example, take the round trail of intermediate difficulty, up to the "Gasthof Rellseck", which is a popular excursion destination both in summer and winter. Further lovely round trails lead up to the "Jagdhütte" or along the Kristberg. Not sure where to go and no idea of how to find you way around? No problem: the hiking guides from "BergAktiv Montafon" offer guided winter and snowshoe hikes you can take part in.

Snowpark: Snowpark Montafon Bartholomäberg

The nearest snow park to burn off steam in, is to be found in the Silvretta Montafon area. Located at the Fredakopf lift lies the "Snowpark Montafon". It was completely made-over in 2012 and now offers brand new obstacles in challenging set-ups. A total of 40 obstacles, daily reshaped by the local park crew, enable a range of moves and jumps to try out. Various sized kickers, rails, jibs, boxes, hips and wallrides leave no wishes unfulfilled. Just let your creativity run wild with you! A chill-out area with good music makes space to relax and come down after an adrenaline-filled day in the park..

Action and fun are guaranteed with the new Freda Bahn. 800 m Freeridecross with a mix of classic elements of ski and snowboard cross as well as natural obstacles such as waves and jumps make the Funslope an absolute highlight! The 350 m long Golm-X Cross course with camel hump, bank turns, stepup and a kicker line with three jumps also offers additional freestyle fun.
