The Achensee region has one of the largest and best-maintained cross-country skiing networks in Austria and has been awarded 4 stars by the ADAC for cross-country skiing! A total of more than 200 km of cross-country ski trails of all levels of difficulty are available to you - separately groomed for classic cross-country skiers and skaters. Beginners can take part in courses in all villages. Achenkirch itself offers 50 kilometres of perfectly groomed cross-country trails in a magnificent landscape.
However, there are also highly recommended cross-country trails in Achenkirch's surrounding area. An absolute highlight for cross-country skiing fans is the cross-country trail from Pertisau into the Falzthurntal valley, which is 14 kilometres long and leads right under the rock faces of the Karwendel into a sunny valley. All villages in the Achensee region also offer groomed cross-country trails for skating-style skiing as well as barrier-free routes. Pertisau even has its own dog trails, for which a fee is charged.
