Location

The traditional 3-star Gasthaus Landhotel Traunstein hotel is situated approx. 1 km away from the centre of Abtenau. Access to the ski slopes is provided by the nearby Karkogel-Kombibahn mountain railway. Alpine skiers can get on a slope directly at the door. Cross-country skiing trails are at the same distance. You can experience a rush of adrenaline on a well-prepared sledding track nearby. Ski buses stop right at the door.

Facilities

This hotel features various facilities, such as a reception, Wi-Fi, a common room, a lift, a breakfast room, a hotel restaurant and a hotel bar. Guests can store their ski and snowboarding equipment in a ski storage room. Drivers can use a parking lot and a charging station for e-cars (for a fee) - subject to availability.

Spa

Our 120 m² large wellness area invites its guests to indulge body and soul and enjoy a Finnish sauna, an aroma steam bath and an infrared cabin. Let the stress of everyday life dissipate in the relaxation room. Massages are available for a fee and help encourage an overall sense of well-being. Our staff provides guests with a bathrobe (for a fee) and bath towels (for a fee) on a loan basis.

Children

The children's playroom offers a range of play experiences for young guests, no matter the weather. High chairs and cots can be used free of charge (upon request and availability).

The half board catering plan includes a rich buffet style breakfast. At dinner, our cooks put together a 5-course menu of choice with 3 various options for the main course. On request, we also serve dietary meals, lactose-free dishes, gluten-free, vegetarian as well as vegan alternatives.

  • When booking several-bed rooms or rooms with extra beds, there is no entitlement to the additional beds in the event of under-occupancy.
  • A fee of €5 will be charged if the room key is lost or broken.
  • Active Family promotion: 07/03/2026 - 06/04/2026. When booking for 5 or more days, children born in 2010 or afterwards (ID required) receive a free multi-day ticket. The prerequisite is that at least one parent purchases a multi-day ticket of 5 days or more for the same period. If there are more children travelling with you than adults or if you do not meet the promotion requirements, a corresponding lift pass must be purchased on site.
