Ski area Zell am See-Kaprun

With the "Zell am See-Kaprun" lift pass, you have access to 138 kilometres of piste and over 49 modern lifts in the ski areas Maiskogel and Schmittenhöhe, as well as on the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier, which extends up to 3,029 m altitude. This snow-sure area offers 41 km of intermediate pistes for beginners and pleasure skiers. Experts can try the Black Mamba piste, with a 63% gradient - a real challenge. With the Glacier Jet or the Panorama lift you can access the glacier from Kaprun.

From Zell am See you can take the CityXpress, the TrassXpress or the Schmittenhöhe lift to access the ski area up the Schmittenhöhe mountain (2,000 m). This area is better suited for more experienced winter sports fans. The approx. 4 km long valley run is known as the most challenging in the entire ski area. You can put your boots back on in the evenings because the Schmitten ski area turns into a floodlight piste. Freeriders can enjoy themselves on the open terrain along the Sonnenkogel lift.

For the winter season of 2018/19 the Schmittenhöhe is planned to be connected with the Skicircus Saalbach Hintergrlemm Leogang Fieberbrunn and the first steps have already been made. From the brandnew zellamseeXpress, only one small connection to Viehhofen in Glemmtal is missing. Neverthless the new lift is sensational as it is: six cabins have a jukebox you can connect with your music.

This terrain is suitable for both beginners and pros alike: the ski area Maiskogel is ideal especially for families due to its selection of wide, blue pistes. At the Maiskogelköpfel lift you will find the longest descent of the area, which covers a total of 7 km.

For freestylers there is a snow park in each of the 3 ski areas with tables, slides and jumps!

A special highlight in this ski area are the many free Wi-Fi hotspots it offers for all its visitors! Only a few easy steps are required to access the Internet and you can instantly check the snow reports, surf the web and supply your friends and family with your holiday news and photos.

The "Super Ski Card" enables you to access over 2,750 kilometres of piste and 937 lifts in 23 ski regions, such as the Skiciscus Saalbach-Hinterglemm-Leogang-Fieberbrunn, the Kitzbühel - Kirchberg ski region or the Salzburger Sportwelt.

Just like in other night skiing areas in Austria, the ski area Zell am See-Kaprun also offers the possiblitiy to go skiing by night time. In Zell am See, the neighbouring resort of Kaprun, night skiing is possible on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Night skiing takes place on the approx. 1.5 km, illuminated "Nightslope" at Ebenbergbahn lift. On days the piste is opened for night skiing, Ebenbergbahn lift closes at 15:00. From 18:30 - 21:00, the lift is opened again for night skiing. A special highlight is the view of the illuminated houses in Zell am See at night time. Ski passes valid for several days can also be used for night skiing. With single day lift passes, the night ski tickets can be acquired in resort.
