Ski area Zillertal Arena
Wald-Königsleiten offers guests a direct entry point to the Zillertal Arena, which is connected to Zell am Ziller, where you will gain access to 143 kilometres of the best prepared pistes. Here, in the most extensive ski area of the Ziller Valley, there are 59 lifts which can take you easily and comfortably up to 2,500 m. From there you will have a diverse choice of runs like the black slope "Abfahrt Nr. 36" in Krummbach Valley. The longest valley run is 10.4 km and leads skiers from "Stoanmandl" over "Ebenfeld" to the valley station "Isskogl".
A real highlight of the region is the "Hot Zone Snowpark" in Gerlos. The newly designed park leaves no wish unfulfilled on it's 30,000 m² expanse. Mega half-pipe (100 m long), easy line for beginners, pro line for pros and kicker line for the very courageous await you there, as well as a great sound system, web cams and the new chill area. The Zillertal Arena offers many other highlights, including 3 different "SkiMovie" tracks. The performances are firstly filmed and later they are free to download via the website. Children's pistes and a kid's ski school and kindergarten with special child entertainment programme keep the little ones busy.
Together with the Isskogel lift the new Dorfbahn lift in Gerlos with take you to the heart of Zillertal arena. The 10 person cabin was opened in 2016/17 and comprises a large valley station with sports shop, ski hire and ski depot as well as more than 200 new parking places.
A further recommendation we would like to make is to visit the Hintertux Glacier, which is one of the most popular in the Alps due to its size and challenging pistes.
