Ski area Snow Space - Salzburger Sportwelt
In the Salzburger Sportwelt alone, you have 210 kilometres of piste and 93 lift systems at altitudes between 740 and 2,176 metres at your disposal. The extensive interconnected ski areas of Kleinarl/Flachauwinkl/Zauchensee and Flachau/Wagrain/St. Johann-Alpendorf are among the top destinations in the region and are famous for events such as the Alpine Ski World Cup in Flachau. In Altenmarkt, winter sports enthusiasts can look forward to the Radstadt-Altenmarkt interconnected ski areas with approx. 17 kilometres of piste and seven lift systems. The gently sloping descent and the practice slope right next to the village make the interconnected ski areas the perfect terrain for families and beginners. Families, beginners and cross-country skiers will find suitable areas in all villages, while experts are mainly drawn to Zauchensee. Freestylers can look forward to various fun parks, such as the Absolut Park in Flachauwinkl, which offers everything a freestyler's heart desires. With a length of 1.6 kilometres, this snowpark is one of the largest terrain parks in Europe. First-class deep snow areas can be discovered on Monte Popolo or around Zauchensee. The Salzburger Sportwelt sets standards in winter sports with its offer!
In addition, around 400 Wi-Fi hotspots are available throughout the ski area, in huts and at the lift stations. So you can easily send all the latest pictures and greetings from the snow to your friends at home.
The G-Link cable car provides a fast connection between the Flachau-Wagrain/Grießenkareck and Wagrain/Grafenberg-Alpendorf ski areas. The well-equipped chair lifts almost all have weather protection bonnets and heated seats, and many also have an automatically closing safety bar for children. Children and family friendliness is also a top priority in this ski area: There are eleven ski schools, childcare facilities, ski play lessons for children from the age of two and children's ski courses for children from the age of four. Other highlights include Wagraini's Winter World, the Alpine Coaster in Flachau and the Devil's Path with its adventurous legendary figures.
Après ski Snow Space - Salzburger Sportwelt
For a varied time away from the pistes, you can go tobogganing on one of the three floodlit runs or the year-round toboggan run "Lucky Flitzer", ice skating or romantic horse-drawn sleigh rides through the snow-covered winter landscape. For relaxation, head to the Therme Amadé spa in Altenmarkt, which offers a sauna area, a water landscape and children's entertainment programmes. A stroll through the villages with their shops and cafés also promises relaxation.
Culture enthusiasts will be delighted by the opportunity to take an exciting day trip to the Mozart city of Salzburg. The historic city with sights from the Middle Ages and the Baroque period can be reached in around an hour.
Snowpark Snow Space - Salzburger Sportwelt: Absolut Snowpark
A very special freestyle highlight awaits you on the Shuttleberg in Flachauwinkl in the Salzburger Sportwelt. The "Absolut Park" offers adrenaline seekers of all levels top opportunities to really let off steam. It all starts with the 5-person kicker line, which starts at the exit of the park's own 6-seater "Absolut Shuttle". The lines underlines its class with the "Spring Battle", Austria's most famous "on-mountain" snowboard contest, which takes place here. Directly next to the Kickerline, the Railline continues. Here, riders can put their skills to the test on the kinked rail, rainbow rail, hand rail, various boxes, downrails and a double kinked rail. Last but not least, the skatepark-style Easy Jibpark demands creativity and spontaneity.
Whoever thinks that this extensive range of obstacles is the end of the story is mistaken. The "Absolut Park" also has a 100 metre long half-pipe with 4 metre high walls and a SuperPipe. The 160 metre long monster is located directly above the "Family Shuttle" valley station and complies with X-Games and Olympic standards. There is also a "Chill House" in the park. This is where you can realise your last freestyle dreams, as there is much more than fat sound, video walls and plenty of space to relax. The two-storey house also has a mini skate ramp and a massive boulder rock.
In addition to the snowpark, the Zauchensee ski area also has a funslope with various waves, banked turns, small jumps and other elements that promise fun for the whole family.
Another highlight is located on the Shuttleberg: Burton and the Absolut Park team have taken the time to put "The Stash" in the landscape in Flachauwinkl too. The concept is very special, because the aim here is to demonstrate creativity on obstacles, some of which are hidden, in harmony with nature. The fun and easy obstacles can be ridden in a variety of ways. At the exit of the "Powder Shuttle" there is also the "Lil' Stash", which is particularly suitable for the little creatives.
