Ski vacations Pejo – culture and spas in the Stelvio National Park!

Pejo

The municipality of Pejo is located in a side valley of the Val di Sole. With the centre of the village at a height of 1,400 m, Pejo is the highest village in Trentino and is the cultural centre of the Valle di Pejo. The visitor centre for the Stelvio National Park is also located here. As a part of the national park, Pejo is an ideal starting point for hikes through the Stelvio Pass as well as for winter sports in the surrounding ski areas, most prominently the local ski area Pejo 3000.

The tranquil Pejo is characterised by its pretty alleyways, the small market place with local shops, as well as the noteworthy architecture of its buildings. Among other things, the former Palayyo Migazzi manor and the SS. Filippo e Giacomo church, with its large frescos from the 14th century, are particularly worth seeing. Not too far from the resort centre, the castle ruins of the Barba di Fior fortress can be found up on a hill.

In addition, Pejo is known for its health tourism. In the Pejo valley, three sulphurous mineral springs bubble out of the earth: the "Fonte Alpina", the "Nuova Fonte" and the "Antica Fonte". Numerous thermal baths in the area use the springs for the services they offer. In the Pejo Fonti fraction, for example, the modern thermal centre "Terme di Pejo" offers diverse therapeutic treatments with the medicinal water.

Val di Sole

In the "Valley of the Sun", the name says it all in winter too: after all, winter sports enthusiasts can expect record-breaking hours of sunshine and guaranteed snow until well into April in this popular holiday region. The valley in Trentino scores with these characteristics, not least thanks to its outstanding location - in the midst of the three thousand metre peaks of the Brenta Dolomites, the Ortler Alps and the Adamello massif. The Val di Sole comprises almost 50 picturesque villages and hamlets. Seven winter sports centres offer accommodation, entertainment and, above all, direct access to all ski areas. From easy and intermediate slopes to freeride areas and snow parks to legendary World Cup runs, there is something for everyone. With the "Superskirama" lift pass, skiers and snowboarders can enjoy an unforgettable skiing experience on over 400 kilometres of slopes at altitudes of up to 3,016 m!
