Ski vacations Mammoth Mountain - skiing on the volcano!

Mammoth Mountain

Mammoth, located in eastern California on the Nevada border, is nestled in the Sierra Nevada, with its gorgeous, pristine mountain landscape at an altitude of 2,456 m. Despite its southern situation, it is, thanks to perfect snow conditions (average 10 m new snow per winter), among the ski areas with the longest seasons in the USA. Mammoth is perfectly equipped for skiers. The accommodations are central and located near the ski area. Numerous restaurants and pubs, largely with live music, attract guests in for some relaxation after a strenuous day on the piste. A visit to the resort's spa area also ensures the necessary dose of relaxation for the coming day of skiing. The nice and heart-warming American hospitality allows visitors to fully enjoy the California sun and joie de vivre. Once you've enjoyed the endless white expanse, you'll always want to come back.

Sierra Nevada

The image of California is primarily characterised by countless beaches on the west coast, as well as the metropolitan areas San Francisco and Los Angeles - but Mammoth Mountain has quite a bit to offer skiers! Mammoth Mountain's ski area is truly unique: it is situated on the flank of an extinct volcano and receives an average of 10 m of snow each winter. There's a reason it's the mecca of ski fans from Los Angeles! Shuttle buses combine the individual resort districts, which all bear resemblance to typical American suburbs: motels, restaurants and shopping centres surrounding the wide Main Street. "Family-friendly" is the magic word here, and a plethora of leisure activities complete the selection!
