The lift pass "Gitschberg Jochtal-Brixen" means skiing fun and diversity in the ski areas Bressanone-Plose and Gitschberg-Jochtal on a total of 98 piste kilometres. The local mountain of the town can be found only approx. 7 km away from Brixen, the Plose, where you can ski with beautiful view of the Dolomites on altitudes from 1,060 to 2,505 m. The ski area offers 9 lifts and 43 km of piste which are perfectly suitable for families. Children can have a go at the practice slope at the Randötsch lift or in the "Kinderland", while the adults enjoy the longest piste in South Tyrol, the Trametsch. It measures 9 km and crosses 1,400 altitude meters. Next to fantastic pistes and lovely huts, a series of further activities await guests. Freestylers and snowboarders will enjoy the Funpark Plose and speed lovers can put up new personal bests at the Plose Speed Check, which is located directly opposite the mountain station of the Schönboden lift.

The neighbouring Gitschberg-Jochtal ski area has 16 lifts and almost 55 km of pistes. The "Cavaliera", a charming piste guide, is always on the slopes between Tuesday and Saturday. Dressed in a tailcoat and top hat, she immediately catches the eye and has the best tips and assistance for skiers. In addition, "La Cavaliera" offers various special activities that guests can take part in free of charge during the week. In addition, three ski schools, one of which has been awarded the golden seal of approval for children's ski schools, as well as the Kinderland in Meransen, the Kinderwelt at the Nesselbahn and the Gimmy Fun Ride in Jochtal ensure fantastic family friendliness. There is also a 360° panoramic platform on the Gitschberg, which offers a fantastic view of the main Alpine ridge, the Zillertal, Stubai and Ötztal Alps and up to 500 Dolomite peaks.

The upgrade to the "Dolomiti Superski" lift pass also allows you to ski in 12 ski areas with a total of around 1,200 kilometres of pistes (see ski region).

Après ski Velturno

Apart from skiing, Velturno and its neighbouring communities offer a wide range of winter leisure activities. Alone ice-skating is possible on five different natural ice rinks in the town's area. How about a round of skittles before dinner?Several providers, such as the sports club in Verdings provide this and billiards is available as well.

In Velturno's sourrounding areas, several mountain pastures, such as the Villanderer Alm, the Kühberg or the Jochalm offer a total of eight natural toboggan runs to which it is easy to ascend for families with children. There are three different lengths which are mostly easy and huts along the way invite for a break.

If you prefer to explore the winter landscape on foot, the Velturno and Latzfonser Alm offer three marked snowshoe hiking tracks. The routes are marked in different colours and measure between 9 and 15 km. But the Eisacktal can also be explored without snow shoes - several routes and circuits lead through mountains and valley all around the Völlnösser Alm, Rosskopf Alm, etc.

Snowpark: Funpark Plose Velturno

Experiencing the breathtaking panorama of the Dolomites flying - who hasn't dreamt of this before? Let the dream come true on the ski mountain Plose and visit the Funpark Plose. Next to the Schönboden piste, several different obstacles for all difficulty levels will carry you away in an instant.

The funpark is divided into an Easy and a Pro Line as well as a Jib Garden with several different rails. This is the right place to get the adrenaline pumping.

In order to get a break or just to watch the other riders show you their tricks, can use the "Chill Area". Here, an old gondola cabin with sound system and in an alternative atmosphere rounds of the day perfectly.
