Location and facilities

The family run 3-star Hotel Bergland Hof is situated at approx. 800 m altitude on a quiet and idyllic south-facing hillside at Dreisessel Mountain. The hotel offers a beautiful view of the Bavarian Forest. The resort centre of Neureichenau can be reached withing approx. 7.5 km. The children's practise area with children's ski lift and snow tube riding run is located approx. 800 m from the hotel. The Austrian ski area "Hochficht" offers floodlid night skiing and a kids park (access in Schanzenberg am Böhmerwald) is approx. 5.5 km away. A cross-country trail can be reached in about 50 m.

The popular and cosy Hotel Bergland Hof has a friendly entrance area with reception and comfortable seating areas, lift, Bergland parlour with bar, breakfast room and a restaurant in which the hotel's director still cooks himself. A ski and snowboard room is available to store your equipment in.

The spa area, with indoor pool (daily, 7:00 - 20:00), Finnish sauna, herbal sauna, steam bath, infrared cabin, Kneipp basin, relaxation room and activity shower (daily, 16:00 - 20:00) can be used for free. Per request and for a fee, cosmetic treatments and massages can be enjoyed. Locally payable parking places are also available.


The friendly furnished rooms have a bath or shower/wc, satellite TV, radio, safe (for a fee), hair drier and some also have a balcony.


The all inclusive board comprises a welcome drink and a rich breakfast buffet (cold and warm dishes from 8:00 - 10:00) with vitality corner, and egg dishes every second day. On Mondays (10:30 - 12:00) you can look forward to a Bavarian sleep-in breakfast with Bavarian veal sausages, pretzel varieties and wheat beet. As a lunch snack there is a selection of salads with coffee and tea (12:00 - 13:00), and in the afternoon, coffee, tea, hot chocolate and cakes, as well as ice cream for the kids is offered (15:00 - 16:00). In the evening, from 18:00 - 20:30, a buffet with three main dishes to choose from is prepared.

Soft drinks are included from 8:00 - 24:00 as well as alcoholic drinks (draught ale and house wine) from 10:00 - 24:00. Spirits such as whiskey, vodka, brandy, rum and prosecco, as well as wheat beer are included as well from 18:00 - 24:00. Christmas dinner and New Year's Eve gala with live music and midnight snack are included as well, as is the "hangover breakfast" on New Year's Day from 8:00 - 13:00. All meals are served in the main restaurant.

How does one best travel to Germany? For the Bavarian Alps, the nearest airports are Salzburg and Innsbruck (in Austria) and Munich and Friedrichshafen (in Germany). For the Bavarian Forest, you would best fly to Munich (Germany) or Salzburg (Austria). For the Black Forest region, you can consider travelling via Stuttgart or Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden (Germany), EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg (France) or Zürich (Switzerland). For Sachsen, Prague (CZ) or Munich are best; for Sauerland, Cologne/Bonn or Dortmund. In Germany, you will often find a train station directly in the resort. The distances from the different train stations and airports to the resorts are shown above the map. Those travelling by car will find a link to a route planner in the lower lefthand corner of the map. Simply enter your origin location and a route will be calculated for you. Please note, that it is wise to be informed about the closure of mountain passes during the winter months! Please also take into consideration that your car is required to be equipped for winter conditions, and that you will need snow chains with you.
