Ski vacations Serre Chevalier – valley of diversity!
Serre Chevalier ValléeLocated at the foot of the homonymous mountain with its2,491 m high peak, lies Serre Chevalier. The valley, which is also the natural bed of the Guisane river, comprises 13 villages in the typical regional design with stone houses, medieval buildings and romantic churches. Cosy village atmosphere mingles with the liveliness of a modern ski resort. Serre Chevalier belongs to the larger ski resorts in Europe with its 250 km of piste. Besides the standard prepared pistes the are also offers lots of diversity with picturesque valley runs through lark forests and exciting mogul runs. Especially pros can burn off steam on the steep slopes just below the mountain peaks, and get into carving mode on the long valley descents and deep powder snow areas. Four snow parks attract freestylers into the national park Les Ecrins. However there is still enough space for beginners to get going here, as well.
Serre-Chevalier, with it's resorts Briançon, Chantemerle, Villeneuve - La-Salle-les-Alpes and Monêtier-les-Bains offers the commodities required for a great winter holiday - from numerous leisure time facilities, via small shopping streets, right up to apres ski and gastronomy or the finest. Briançon is the lively hotspot of the valley, Monêtier-les-Bains offer country-style charm and attracts especially spa visitors, due to it's thermal springs. Villeneuve - La-Salle-les-Alpes is the apres ski centre with quaint little alleys to stroll through, whilst Chantemerle is a typically functional ski resort with chalets, hotels and apartments all located around the resort centre.
