Ski area Val Thorens-Orelle

With the lift pass "Val Thorens-Orelle" you have access to 150 km of the loveliest and most snow-sure pistes in "Les 3 Vallées". 29 lifts guarantee a quick ascent - especially the large gondola at the Cime de Caron (3,200 m). The magnificent view and the descent along the pistes are definitely an experience of a kind in this region - just breathtaking! Two lifts, the "Plan de l'Eau" and "Portette" now offer space for 6 persons and take you up to the summit comfortably.

A further highlight is the snow park, which opened in 2007 and expands over 70,000 m²! Additionally there is a 1.4 km long boardercross trail with jumping table, which is ideal for really powering out. The numerous deep powder snow areas make all free rider's hearts beat faster! The well-exercised can try out the 12 km long "Col de l'Audzin" with an altitude difference of 1,400 m, while pros can really get going on the black piste "Combe de Caron" (6 km long). For experienced and good skiers we recommend the lift pass "Les 3 Vallées". Those who book the lift pass "Val Thorens" have the possibility to upgrade their pass in resort (for a surcharge) to the "Les 3 Vallées".

In most lifts and in many mountain railway stations and restaurants in the ski area, you have access to Wi-Fi hotspots.

Night skiing Val Thorens

In France, many ski areas extend their operation hours for skiing by night, and also guests of the 3 Vallées can look forward to this special experience on the piste. Like this, the ski area Courchevel turns on the floodlights every Wednesday. The 8-person gondola Verdons takes skiers up to the mountain station, from where they can use the Verdons piste as well as the family park at pleasure. One of the highlights is the fact that nightly skiing is accompanied by music in the family park. Refreshments are also available until late in the evening: The restaurant "Les Verdons" adjusts its opening hours to those of the lift, so that you can use night skiing fun in its entirety.

Après ski Val Thorens

Val Thorens has revealed itself in recent years as the "Mecca" of French après ski. With 20 bars and three discos in the area, Val Thorens truly offers something to satisfy every taste. Top tip: the most popular après ski bar in town, with international character, is "Le Monde"! When the sun goes down, the party shifts from the large terrace to the pub, or the cosy bar in the basement. When the clock strikes twelve, the party animals head out to the beloved disco "Malaysia".

Another highlight is the possibly highest located open air club in Europe - "La Folie Douce" in Val Thorens. The award-winning club can be found on an altitude of 2,600 m at the mountain station of the Pionniers gondola and the 6-person chair lift Plein Sud. The approx. 700 m² large dance and party area reminds of spring break in Florida and parties in Ibiza, and offers live performances and musicians (funky-soul-house.)

Those who seek even more sporting opportunities after a day of skiing will find a great selection in the sports centre. Here there are three tennis courts, two squash courts, an indoor pool, sauna and jacuzzi, as well as a fitness room and a massage room. For children there is a fun park with trampolines, bouncy castles, ball pits and much more. Or what about a ride on the highest toboggan run in the world - "Le Toboggan"? Overcome 700 m altitude in only 30 min - a fantastic experience!

Snowpark: Snowpark Val Thorens

With your lift pass you have access to a top class snow park, in Europe's highest ski resort. Between 2,500 - 2,600 m altitude lays the 600 m long and 70,000 m² large "Val Thorens Snow Park" in the "Plateaux" sector, in close proximity to the "Grand Fond" gondola. Here there are various elements such as rails, tables and boxes at different levels of difficulty. Therefore both beginners and freestyle pros can enjoy the park to the fullest. Freestylers can also take part in numerous competitions throughout the whole winter season, giving them a chance to prove their skills. If that's not enough, there is also the opportunity to try out and practise tricks on more unusual elements, such as the "Hips-Quarter" or the "Jump Air".

Speed junkies and other boarder fans can run riot on the boardercross runs. And if all this is still not enough, then there is still the Big Air bag for practising tricks. Directly alongside the park is a tow lift which takes you back up to the top again.

Further to the snow park, in Val Thorens there is also France's first fun slope! Directly at Lift 2 Lacs in the centre of the ski area, you can let off steam on a 900 m long track. Starting here and going over waves, banked waves, tunnel, steep curves and bridges to the destination, where Slopy, the mascot, awaits you for a high five, as congratulation for completing the route.

After an exhausting freestyle day, or maybe just for a break in between, you go and wind down in the chill zone. The perfect sound is of course part of it and is tended to in the snow park directly. During the winter season there are various contests which can also be participated in.

If one park does not do, then there are 2 further fantastic parks in Méribel: the "Elements Park", created by Ho5Park, and a special highlight, the "DC Area 43 Snow Park".
