Ski vacations Marienbad – Marvellous spa town in Western Bohemia!

Mariánské Lázně

The spa town Mariánské Lázně is located close to the German border in the so-called "Bohemian spa triangle" with Karlsbad and Franzensbad. The spa town was founded at the beginning of the 19th century when iron-rich healing springs were discovered. Many celebrities, such as Goethe, Wagner, Kafka, Chopin or Mark Twain, have since visited this marvellous town with its thermal baths and imposing buildings. More than 40 mineral springs have their source within the city area alone - perfect conditions to take advantage of spa treatments. This has made Mariánské Lázně become the second largest spa town in the Czech Republic. An architectural highlight is provided with the spa colonnade with its cast-iron constructions. The "singing fountain" in the spa park is a real tourist attraction as it presents a water show accompanied by music which draws many visitors especially in the evening.

At the edge of the town, a small ski area can be found, which is ideal for pleasure skiers as well as families with children. The town borders the Kaiser Forest, which provides plenty of possibilities for winter hikes and cross-country skiing. In Mariánské Lázně, a relaxing holiday with a mix of culture, nature and winter sports awaits.

Western Bohemia

Located directly at the German-Czech border and South East of the Ore Mountain, the subterranean natural healing powers of the Bohemian forest can be found. Springs that are rich in iron, surface here and have attracted international spa guests to Western Bohemia for centuries. The diverse landscape features fairytale castles and fortresses and offers magnificent hiking trails, cross-country tracks and several small ski areas. Pilsen, the European capital city of 2015, where the famous beer Pilsner Urquell originates, and the famous "spa triangle" are attractive holiday regions in Western Bohemia. The three well-known healing baths Karlovy Vary, Františkovy Lázně and Mariánské Lázně are a worthwile sight with their elegant spa facilities and sophisticated architecture, promising quiet and relaxation from the daily routine.

Healing spa treatments and diverse skiing possibilities make for a perfect combination for a holiday.
