Ski area Obergurgl/Hochgurgl

You will find the skiing area of Obergurgl-Hochgurgl at the end of the Ötztal at an altitude of 1,793 - 3,082 m. Thanks to the high altitude and the modern snow-making devices it's not surprising that this area has the reputation of having the most snow-sure skiing area in the Alps! With the lift pass you have access to 110 kilometres of piste and 28 lifts. Up to 99% of the pistes are accessible to the snow-making devices, therefore the lifts are open from November to May! The "Top-Express-Gurgl" gondola connects the two skiing areas – the ride of 3.6 km takes just 9 minutes. During this time you can just relax and enjoy the magnificent glacier scenery!

From the winter season 2015/2016, the "Top Mountain Crosspoint" has opened its gates. The modern site has three functions: it is the valley station of the new Kirchenkar gondola with a full service restaurant, further it has a toll pay station of the Timmelsjoch highway and lastly, with the "Mountain Motorcycle Museum" it features the highest altitude museum of Europe. The modern, multi-functional complex is architecturally built like a snowdrift.

The broad slopes of Hochgurgl are ideal for beginners. Obergurgl is more demanding but also offers a few blue runs. Advanced skiers get their kicks at the "Hohen Mut" (high courage) at Obergurgl – the most demanding slope of the Ötztal with its mogul piste and extremely steep run!

Boarders can find a snow park at the Bruggenboden lift with that gives you adrenaline on 2 different lines and almost 20 obstacles. Numerous great free ride areas at e.g. Wurmkogel and Festkogel, as well as on the Hohe Mut also ensure all kinds of fun and action.

In Obergurgl as well as Hochgurgl, you have the possibility to snight ski and sledge under starlit skies.
