Ski area Hochkössen

The Hochkössen ski area is Kössen's local mountain, where 12 lifts and 22 kilometres of pistes await you. When heading out from Walchsee, you can reach the resort after about 9 km. The family-friendly ski area goes up to an altitude of 1,690 m and is considered one of the snowiest ski areas in Tyrol. Thanks to its geographical location on the northern edge of the Alps, the slopes can be skied continuously from mid-December to early April, and additional snow-making equipment also ensures skiing back to the valley. From there, you can take the modern 6-seater cable car up to the rustic Bärenhütte. While beginners enjoy themselves on the sunny high plateau, the "black" downhill run is a special treat for experts. Great deep snow areas, which are also secured, can be found at the Unterbergalmen and partly also at the valley run.

Après ski Walchsee

Apres ski in Walchsee and Kössen will definitely give you your money's worth. In the "Londoner" and in the "Enjoy" in Kössen or the "Kaminstube" in Walchsee you will experience everything that is a part of apres ski - for decent prices! You should also try the regional cuisine, such as "Kaiserschmarrn" or grilled goat ribs.

Another highlight of the Kaiserwinkl in 2020 will be the 19th International Kaiserwinkl Alpine Ballooning. From 25.01. to 01.02.2020, in addition to races for real ballooning professionals, the evening will be devoted to marvelling at the glowing balloons over a glass of mulled wine. If you've been dreaming of riding in a hot-air balloon for a long time, you'll find a great opportunity here after making an appointment in advance.

Once per week the Zahmer Kaiser offers evening fun on the pistes. Tobogganers can speed down three different runs in Walchsee - if you feel like it you can try the 3 km long run in the ski area Wilder Kaiser. Snowbike workshops offer great fun in Schwendt. Approx. 80 km of winter hiking trails invite you to explore the region of Kaiserwinkl. Or grab a pair of snowshoes and get going. On the ice rink in Kössener Dorfplatz you can spend your time curling or practising your twirls. An ice rink can also be found in Walchsee, opened daily in the winter season.

Snowpark: Snowpark Walchsee

The local ski area of Walchsee does, unfortunately, not have a Funpark.
