Ski area Schneewinkel

The lift pass "Schneewinkel" grants you access to a total of approx. 110 km of piste and 53 lifts: besides the ski lifts Kirchdorf, St. Johann in Tirol, Erpfendorf/Lärchenhof and Pillersee - Buchensteinwand you can also use Waidring-Steinplatte and the Winklmoosalm by Reit im Winkl, which belongs to the same lift system, on the German side.

Directly in resort, the Kirchdorf lift takes you to 5 km of family-friendly pistes. From there, it's only a few metres to the lifts in the ski area of St. Johann in Tirol - Oberndorf, of which lies between the famous Kitzbühel Horn and the Wilder Kaiser. Through the favourable northern position, the pistes are still quite snow-secure even in early spring. The 43 km of piste in St. Johann (incl. Eichendorf and Oberndorf) take you to altitudes between 659 - 1,604 m and are easily reached with 20 lifts. A modern cabin lift brings you in two segments swiftly up to the peak of Harschbichl. Families and beginners in particular will get their money's worth thanks to the predominantly beginner-to-novice level pistes. However, practised skiers will also find the ski area to their liking with features such as the black 3.5 km long Sauregg FIS run from Penzing to Oberndorf or the demanding freeride area at Stangalm and Kröpfalm. For snowboards, the snowpark "Woodside," with a quarter pipe and half pipe can be found at the Eichenhof lifts. Pros should definitely be there for the Woodside Opening!

For the ski season of 2016/17, the "Salzburger Super Ski Card" and the "Kitzbüheler Alpen AllStarCard" have formed a new union and offer a sheer unbelievable result: The Super Ski Card with 2,794 km of piste and 925 lifts all covering 2 federal states and 6 counties. With 3 glaciers - the Kitzsteinhorn, the Dachstein and Mölltal Glacier - this ultra lift pass provides for 199 days of skiing fun and a maximum reliability of snow coverage. The 25 ski regions include such areas as Ski Juwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau, Salzburger Sportwelt, Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn, the Skiwelt Wilder Kaiser – Brixental, Kitzbühel – Kirchberg, St. Johann in Tirol – Oberndorf, Steinplatte Waidring – Winklmoos, Ski amadé or the Zillertalarena. A real MUST for ever winter sports crack!

Après ski Kirchdorf

Whoever wants to get a head start on apres ski in the afternoon will find a large selection of ski huts in the region of Schneewinkel. Many of the apres ski locations are easily and quickly reached from the ski area. Whether directly from the piste into an umbrella bar or later on into further bars, pubs, and discos - the short parths between the villages makes partying no problem. In St. Johann, for example, the "Max Pub" is worth recommending, where younger skiers meet up in the evenings.

Live music can be found every Saturday on the Bacheralm, in the upper half of Kirchdorf. From here out, mosey along an approx. 45 minute long hike, or let a tractor haul you up on your sledge. From the Bacheralm, where you can experience a gorgeous view of the Wilder Kaiser, you can head back into the village via toboggan run.

As an alternative to sports and partying, you can also find pure relaxation in the sauna world Kaiserguell in Kirchdorf or in one of the diverse beauty spas in Kirchdorf, St. Johann and Erpfendorf.

Snowpark: Snowpark Funslope Kirchdorf

In the ski areas of the lift-connected Schneewinkel, a total of four snowparks are to be found. The ski region, known as one of the most popular and most snow-secure ski regions in the Kitzbühler Alps, captivates thrill-seekers.

With two varying concepts, the park constructors have successfully provided the "Jungen Wilden" (young, wild ones) with what they look for today and is therefore an absolute highlight in the ski area. For those who've always wanted to take spectacular jumps, an extensive fun-slope awaits eager winter sports fans. The run, composed of the most diverse elements for beginners and experts, should first and foremost provide for pure fun for freestylers, and secondly, pose a new challenge to take on. Three 3 m kickers, a wave run and a banked run allow you to make incredible stunts and jumps.

Whoever counts themselves as one of the pros will most likely find their place in the Qpark, which leaves no wish unfulfilled with six kickers and tables up to 7 m, three butter boxes, a 3 m long tank and many more obstacles to conquer. Think you can resist all that?
