Ski area Gastein

The "Ski amadé" lift pass gives you access to a total of 760 kilometres of piste, as well as 270 lifts (see ski region)! The ski region Gastein, with its 197 km of piste (incl. 21 km of ski routes) and 43 lifts is one of the largest and nicest areas of the Salzburger Land. Due to the altitude (up to 2,686 m), excellent snow and piste conditions and many snow cannons, fantastic snow conditions are available through to spring.

Beginners will find lovely, wide pistes throughout the entire area. In close proximity to Bad Hofgastein there is further there is also the ski centre Angertal. More challenging are the deep snow runs at Graukogel, which run over into the black FIS racing stretches. Deep snow areas, e.g. at Kreuzkogel as well as numerous ski routes, offer the perfect playground for cracks! The "Hohe Scharte Nord" at the Schlossalm, however, covers the largest difference in altitude in Salzburger Land.

Snowboarders and freestylers can burn off energy at the snow parks on Stubnerkogel and Kreuzkogel.

All over the ski area there are Wi-Fi-hotspots which give you the opportunity to stay in contact with your friends during your winter holidays and to upload the first photos from your stay.

All in all, four areas await you in Gastein Valley with the ski area Dorfgastein-Großarltal and Schlossalm-Angertal-Stubnerkogel, the Graukogel and Sportgastein; with their diverse, perfectly connected offer, will make winter sports fans' pulses race.

Après ski Bad Hofgastein

In Bad Hofgastein, the après ski fun already starts on the pistes, where numerous huts and umbrella bars, such as the Ice Cube Cocktail Bar, invite you to stop in. In the resort, you can party in various bars and pubs. A hot tip is the Sky Bar, which is located directly above the Alpentherme and offers a great view in addition to delicious cocktails. The rustic Gastein Alm, the Flying Fox Winebar, the Aurum or the vegetarian Kraut und Rüben are also popular meeting places. Party-hungry people can let loose in Bad Gastein at the Gatz Mountain Club, Silver Bullet or Haeggbloms Bar. Alternatively, you can also spend a quiet evening in one of the restaurants and fortify yourself for the next day with a hearty meal.

Relaxation after a successful day of skiing is promised by the Alpentherme Gastein, a modern, alpine health and leisure oasis with six different themed worlds such as Sauna, Family and Relax. Great fun for all ages is tobogganing on one of the night toboggan runs in Bad Gastein or Bad Hofgastein. In Bad Hofgastein, you also have the possibility of ice skating, curling, indoor tennis or riding Icelandic horses in the riding hall. To explore the nature of the Gastein Valley, numerous winter hiking trails are available.

Those interested in history can visit the Gastein Museum or Klammstein Castle at the entrance of the valley, which offers an exhibition on castle development. Families should not miss out on a visit to the fortress, either: For little fans of frights, guided ghost tours are offered here.

Snowpark: Snowpark Gastein Bad Hofgastein

Located in the ski area Gastein is the "Snowpark Gastein", which is shaped by Q-Parks, just like many other top parks in the Alps. From Bad Gastein you can reach the park via the Stubnerkogel lift and from Bad Hofgastein you can take the Angertal lift. On an altitude of approx. 1,900 m the snow park offers 3 different areas with countless obstacles.

In the spacious beginner area there are 2 boxes, butter boxes, and 4 kickers. In the medium area advanced riders can show their skills on boxes, kickers (up to 10 m), rails, tubes, as well as a jib zone with pyramid and wall ride spine. The advanced area for pros comprises a challenging set up with an 11 m picknicker jib, 12 m kicker, and a 15 m down/flat/down box, as well as many other obstacles.

Those who would just like to watch will have a great view of the area from the "Stubneralm" at the lower end of the park.
