Achensee

Tyrol's first "vital sports region" is comprised of the resorts Maurach, Pertisau and Achenkirch, making up a picturesque area embedded in enchanting mountains around Achensee. The high, snow secure valley offers something for all families and holiday-makers. Skiers and snowboarders have three different ski areas with various levels of piste to try out. Approx. 90 km of cleared hiking trails invite guests to tour through a fascinating winter wonderland. Especially fun for young and old are the toboggan run and ice skating rink, in addition to horse-drawn sleigh rides. Enjoyment and relaxation are also important for the body and soul and offered at Achensee. Fitness programms, health checks, and massages are also offered.

The idyllic town of Achenkirch lies at an altitude of 916 m and is made up of many scattered districts. Located at the northern opening to Lake Achen, the gorgeous view offers a look at the mountains and one of Tyrol's largest lakes. The amazing ski area, one of Europe's largest enclosed conservation areas, the "Karwendal", is waiting to be discovered. Besides snow bikes and tobogganing, the possibility to try snow golf is also available.

Those looking for romance shouldn't miss the horse-drawn carriage rides through the sparkling snowy landscape. Culinary highlights can be found in the first-class restaurants after an exciting day.
