Ski area Grindelwald/First & Kleine Scheidegg/Männlichen

The "Jungfrau" lift pass covers the areas of Grindelwald/First, Kleine Scheidegg/Männlichen and Mürren/Schilthorn with a total of 206 kilometres of pistes (see ski region). To use this, you only need to show a valid Jungfrau Region hiking or sledging pass or the "Jungfrau" ski pass and a completed and valid guest card.

The Grindelwald-Wengen lift pass includes the Grindelwald-First and Kleine Scheidegg/Männlichen areas with a total of 151 kilometres of pistes. Wengen is perfectly connected to the ski area with the Männlichen mountain railway and Interlaken thanks to the various railway lines. Likewise, a free ski bus runs to Grindelwald for all guests of the Interlaken holiday region.

The two ski areas offers slopes for all tastes. "First", with its wide range of easier slopes is especially suitable for beginners. There is even a designated "low speed area". But the area is also a real insider tip for snowboarders. The "White Elements" snow park makes the snowboarders hearts beat faster.

The "First-Egg-Bort-Grindelwald" slope with a length of 6 km and an altitude difference of 1,118 m is demanding even for the most advanced skiers and counts for one of the most challenging slopes in the region. Advanced skiers are, of course, drawn to the Kleine Scheidegg/Männlichen area, to try out the legendary Lauberhorn slope. Nevertheless, with a total of 102 km of piste in this ski area alone, less experienced skiers also get their full money's worth.

Night skiing Wengen

In Switzerland you can find ski areas that illuminate some of their pistes in the evening for night skiing. Nearby Wengen, the Bodmi Arena near Grindelwald invites night skiers. From the middle of December, the night ski area offers the so called "bodmiNIGHT" every Wednesday and Friday, when the night ski piste is open for skiing at night time from 19:00 - 22:00. Those who are not interested in night skiing or simply want to enjoy the evening after night skiing, can enjoy a glass of mulled wine a little away from the piste. With the Jungfrau lift pass, you can go night skiing for free.

Après ski Wengen

Also in the domain of après ski, Wengen has something to offer. A number of cafés and restaurants are available for the ones looking for a relaxing and pleasant end to the day on the slopes. Take a nightcap at "Sunstar" for example, and enjoy live music in front of the fireplace. Fans of classical après ski will also find a wide range of bars, for example "Hasenstall" or "Pickel Bar". In the "Blue Monkey Club" the party goes on until late into the night.

In Wengen, sport activities are not restricted to the slopes. The Jungfrau region for example, is a real paradise for fans of sledding. In Grindelwald alone there are a total of 70 km of toboggan runs. The "Big Pintenfritz" is 15 km long. The "Fox Run" in Wengen is 4.5 m from the Wengernalp mountain to the valley. The 3 km long "Eiger Run" is lit up in the evenings.

You can also explore the mountainous surroundings through winter hiking trails or snowshoe hiking trails. Or enjoy some ice-skating on the rink in the village centre.

Snowpark: White Elements Snowpark Wengen

The "White Elements Snowpark" in Grindelwald is nothing to sneeze at. Divided into three parks, the park offers good fun in the jumps and rails for beginners, intermediate as well as for pros. The 850 metre long pro park at the "Bärgelegg" lift awaits you with its 25 metre high kickers and is nothing for people with weak nerves.

At the "Oberjoch" is the beginners park located, which with its small kickers and boxes is perfectly suited for freestyle beginners. At the Schilt lift, the four-track Audi Skicross Park is located. Daily prepared, the "White Elements Snowpark" leaves no wishes unfulfilled. Moreover, in a collaboration with the "Summit Foundation it has an engagement for climate friendly skiing and snowboarding. International contests, like the "End of Season Jam" provide further incentives to pay this park a visit.

In Grindelwald, there is a special park for free riders. In a large field at the Mammut ATC avalanche training centre, you can try out the technology used in searching for avalanche victims.
