Cross-country Sils Maria (St. Moritz)

Information on cross-country skiing

230 km km of cross-country tracks:

The entire ski region around Sils-Maria offers a cross-country trail network of approx. 230 km, so that cross-country skiers will find a true winter sports paradise that leaves nothing to be desired. The majority of slopes are of an easy or intermediate level.

Special emphasis has to be put on the most famous trail in Switzerland: the 42 km long marathon run between Maloja and S-chanf. Every year on the second Sunday in March, a major cross-country event takes place on this trail, and several thousands of cross-country skiers take part! A very beautiful part of the trail leads across the frozen Silserse lake as well as the Silvaplaner and Champferersee lakes on a length of 12 km.

The tracks in the side valleys Roseg and Morteratsch have a special flair. You will find a real challenge in the longest trail of the region, in which you pass a length of 61 km. It leads from Maloja via Zuoz and S-chanf to Zernez. The high altitude trails offer the most beautiful views. Here you will find the intermediate "Alp Bondo" trail that is 8 km long and reaches from 2,093 to 2,200 metres, as well as the high altitude trails nearby Maloja and Salvaplana.

Those who don't want to leave the trails late in the evening can choose between three flood-lit trails, such as e.g. the 2 km long night trail in St. Moritz.

In order to use the trails, you will need the Swiss cross-country pass. This costs around 10 CHF per day and around 30 CHF per week.
