Ski area Aprica

The lift pass "Aprica" offers access to 50 km of piste up to 2,270 m altitude, which can all be easily reached with 16 lifts. Here you can put on your skis directly at the accommodation and descend leisurely to the valley station. The ski area mainly offers easy and intermediate pistes, but there a couple of black runs to be found, as well. The "Superpanoramica" is known to be especially lovely and, at a length of 6 km, is the longest piste in the area and offers breath-taking panoramic views. A challenge for the more experienced skiers is the "Magnolta Inferiore" with approx. 2 km length. Even with its mild climate the region of Aprica is known for its reliability for snow, and 80% of the pistes are additionally equipped with snow canons for even better snow conditions. The fun park "Initial", with diverse kickers, boxes, and wall rides really gets freestylers' hearts pumping and also has its own lift and flood light facility.

Rules of conduct on ski pistes in Italy

In order to ensure safety on the ski pistes in Italy, new safety regulations will come into force from 2022. In order to use the ski areas, everyone must have liability insurance that covers damage to third parties. It will also be possible to take out this insurance on site for individual days. Drunken skiing is prohibited and punishable by heavy fines, with a maximum of 0.5 mg of alcohol per litre of blood. To reduce the risk of injury, helmets are also compulsory for all minors when skiing, snowboarding or tobogganing.

Night skiing Aprica

In sunny Sondrio, skiing is not only a pleasure during the day. Many pistes in Italy are illumainted by floodlight for skiers to extend skiing fun until the evening, and night skiing is also available in the Aprica ski area with approx. 50 km of piste. At the foot of Monte Palabione two blue pistes are illuminated for night skiing. In winter, the practise lift operate in the evening several times per week - the exact dates are announced on the info board in resort.

Après ski Aprica

The evening in Aprica can also end on the piste as the ski huts invite their guests in to linger and party after a fun day on the slopes. The après ski Baradello Show and Snack Bar, or the Bar Ombrello are good places to drop in. Also in the village party folk can find a number of bars and pubs to enjoy. If you want to remain sporty in the evening you can go ice skating or try ski tours and snowshoe hikes, or even test yourself by climbing the artificial ice wall. A cosy end to the day can be found in the many restaurants with their tasty local specialities. The local pool complex also offers a nice alternative with their relaxing spa facilities.

Snowpark: Fun park "Initial" Aprica

The snow park of Aprica, "Initial", has diverse obstacles like kickers, boxes and wall rides. There are also two slide lines and two jump lines designed for both beginners as well as snowboarders and freestylers, who can practice and hone their skills. Here, the sky's the limit when it comes to fun. The park also has its own lift and a flood light facility, so that the fun can continue on into the evening.
