Location and facilities

The cosy Hostel 2962 is located quietly but centrally in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The ski bus stops in approx. 400 m and takes you to the ski area which is about 2 km away.

The accommodation offers a reception, breakfast room, common room with a drinks vending machine, TV and lounge area, Wi-Fi (incl.), as well as a ski room with ski boots driers. Free-of-charge parking spaces are also available.

When paying the tourist tax in resort you will also receive a guest card with attractive included services and discounts for the time of your stay. For example, the guest cards includes free use of all local buses as well as the Schneeexpress, free or discounted adventure hikes, 1 x free entrance to the Alpspitz indoor wave pool as well as to the Garmisch-Partenkirchen Casino (from 21 years, with ID) and many other attractions.


The rooms have a shower/wc (partly both on the hallway), cable TV in the double rooms, Wi-Fi (hot spot) and some also have a balcony.


Included in the holiday price is a breakfast buffet with egg dishes, muesli, yoghurt, fruit, juice, coffee, cacao, tea, cheese, cold cuts, bread rolls and bread.

  • Children under the age of 6 years receive a free lift pass when accompanied by their parents. However, when participating in ski lessons, a valid lift pass is required (payable locally, approx. 50% of the child tariff, further information at the lift office).

Babies, less that 24 months of age at the time of travel, generally travel for free, but need to be listed on the booking confirmation.

Travel Info/Map

How does one best travel to Germany? For the Bavarian Alps, the nearest airports are Salzburg and Innsbruck (in Austria) and Munich and Friedrichshafen (in Germany). For the Bavarian Forest, you would best fly to Munich (Germany) or Salzburg (Austria). For Sachsen, Prague (CZ) or Munich are best; for Sauerland, Cologne/Bonn or Dortmund. In Germany, you will often find a train station directly in the resort. The distances from the different train stations and airports to the resorts are shown above the map. Those travelling by car will find a link to a route planner in the lower lefthand corner of the map. Simply enter your origin location and a route will be calculated for you. Please note, that it is wise to be informed about the closure of mountain passes during the winter months! Please also take into consideration that your car is required to be equipped for winter conditions, and that you will need snow chains with you.
