Ski area Oberkirnach - St. Georgen

The Black Forest offers over 150 ski lifts and around 150 km of prepared pistes. The nearest ski area can be found in approx. 25 km, in St. Georgen and Schonach. A little further away is the largest ski area at the Feldberg, which is approx. 75 km from Lauterbach. 14 lifts and approx. 26 km of pistes are to be found on the highest mountain of Baden-Württemberg. However, there are also some smaller ski areas which invite you to speed or swing gently down the slopes and through the clear mountain air of the Black Forest. Especially families are perfectly catered for in these manageable ski area, which all located within easy reach from the Schwarzwaldhochstraße, between Kniebis, right up to Freudenstadt. Additionally, there are also freeride areas and deep powder snow descents in the Black Forest. For every level of skill there is right terrain and so the Black Forest is one of the most diverse winter sports regions in Germany.

Après ski Lauterbach

Lauterbach in the evening is almost even more idyllic than by day. The focus here is on cosy breaks and being together playing games, music and having a drink. The excellent restaurants in resort invite you to have a hearty Vesper-snack or to fine dining. One of the resort's characteristics are the "LouderBacher" events with free concerts, theatrical performances and themed evenings at "Brauerei-Treff". If you want to explore the Black Forest, you can take a walk to Fohrenbühl pass, a popular destination of excursions at 881 m high Mooswaldkopf, the highest elevation in the Middle Black Forest. Up there you can find the observation tower "Gedächtnishaus" which the Black Forest Association built as a wanderer's hostel. This is also where the boarder between the Grand Duchy of Baden and the Kingdom of Württemberg. From the observation tower you can see the Feldberg and Kniebis.

In general, the area offers many diverse winter hiking trails, and here and there you will find secured toboggan runs. If you prefer swimming you can visit various public indoor pools and adventure pools, such as e.g. the baths Aquasol in Rottweil, Panorama-Bad in Freudenstadt or Solemar in Bad Dürrheim. In good or bad weather, all relaxed or with a lot of action: extensive leisuer time fun for the whole family can be had in and around Lauterbach.

Snowpark: MINI Snowpark Feldberg Lauterbach

While there are only few noteworthy snowparks in the differently sized ski areas around Lauterbach, the highlight is not all too far away: The MINI Snowpark at Feldberg! It is one of the TOP snowpark in Germany and let's freestyler's hearts beat faster, regardless of whether you are around on skis or on a snowboard! A well thought out setup with various jumps and tables up to a length of 10 m awaits you. The obstacles are even known as the longest Jib-Line in Germany. Every winter, the shaping crew excels itself and boasts new features every year. It is really no suprise the park hosts both regional and international freestyle events on a regular basis. Shredding fun is guaranteed at Feldberg, that's for sure.
